TVR Event: Battle of the Sixes

Its now open up to all speed sixes!

Put it in your diary folks!
Saturday 19th May TVRCC Speed Championship Hillclimb, Loton Park, Alberbury nr Shrewsbury.
The best of the Tuscaneers battling against the best of the other speed sixes. Other TVR's can also attend of course to browse!
We have use of the Loton Park Manor House grounds at £5 a car to show our cars on. Which if you also find on the net, is set in a deer park and medieval castle.

If you park your TVR as above, access to the TVRCC speed championships acroos the road is free, but if you take your car into this area its £10.

A Tuscan group hillclimb maybe on the cards for lunchtime, yet to be confirmed.

I also have a "local tivver" willing to organise another of his nice runs thru the Welsh hills on the Sunday 20th May.

Hotel now chosen is the Sleep Inn. 01743 276020. All ready for booking, please quote TVR car club gathering.

The rate I have got is £70 for a King Size room with cooked or continental breakfast. Single occupancy is £60. The cancellation policy is "nothing taken off your card if you cancel 48 hours prior to your stay". You may see this hotel slightly cheaper online but it either doesnt include breakfast or the payment is upfront with a cancellation policy of 90 days.

The hotel have a huge car park in a secluded CCTV monitored trading estate 1 mile from the town centre of Shrewsbury.

....i think I've stumbled on a blunder here, If any Cerberas wish to be considered to be up for the event, then of course they have to prove they are speed sixes... can anyone can do a window sticker saying "I've got a Speed Six under my bonnet" (or any better suggestions!?)and all cerbs have to have this on their windscreen, bit embarrassing I know Just stick an AJP8 in mine and I'l shut up

I could be interested as a weekend away with the missus and youngest. Can I lie about having an extra 2 pots?

Is Loton park just the hill climb or is there anything else there? My wifes not a petrolhead and my 9 year old, whilst loving cars, would probably be bored after a couple of hours.

I'd say leave me there but she's not insured for the car.

What's the timing of the event/hill climb on Saturday. We're only a couple of hours away (or less ) so would probably drive up Saturday morning and stay the one night.

Plans for the day wont be confirmed until March/April once I meet with the Ground owner and the motor club secretary who have leased the hill climb.
Loton Park is in a deer park and a medeival castle is close by. The course is 1475 yards (1349 metres) long with an average gradient of 1 in 25 (4%) and the steepest of 1 in 7 (14%).
