Any information on these Wedges?

Hi Everyone, I've had my T350C for nearly a year and I love it! However, the bug has spread to another member of my family, in that, my brother now wants a Tasmin 350i. Between us we've spotted these two likely examples and I would be grateful for any infomation you could give us. Thanks for your help,

I don't know either of the wedges you mention. From the write-ups and pics, both sound promising.
I can tell you the blue one on ebay has appeared on ebay a few times and each time has not sold. It was discussed on this forum..... probably getting on for a year ago.
All I can say is you rarly find the "right" wedge on your doorstep. If you want a good one, you have to be prepared to travel and look at a few. Always look at any wedge thoroughly BEFORE you test drive it. If you don't, you are always wearing rose tinted spectacles. Buy the best you can afford and don't forget to have a good poke at the outriggers.

I don't know either of those Wedges either, however without wishing to offend the owners, they don't appeal to me very much.
The blue one on ebay has been there for a good year or so as Lee says, and hardly ever attracts a bid. What puts me off is whats in the background of the images. Does the car look like it has been kept in a nice private garage...? Having said that, the seller does have good feedback so it could be a genuine bargin. I would view it before bidding though and check out the history with an hpi check. Also question why one of the front tyres seems flat, why there appears to be a tow rope hanging from the front, why the exhaust is missing from the back, why some electrics are hanging out from inside and where the centre caps are for the wheels. It may just be that the pictures were taken during its rebuild, but don't just buy it blind!
The other Wedge looks straight enough, however it too has couple of things I would question. The wheels are all wrong and have the incorrect offset - the tyres on the rear especially seem to stick out further than the body does, although this is a matter of taste I guess. The front bumper has also dropped a good inch or so, however this is normally fixed by removing the front lights are adjusting a couple of bolts. Apart from that it looks good and straight and not too messed with.
If you go to see any Wedge, make sure you get it up on a ramp or axle stands and check those outriggers for rust. Its the main weak part of any Wedge, so don't overlook it. Also try to buy a 1986 onwards model as these have revised rear suspension, going from trailing arms to the stronger A-frames. Trailing arms are ok, but the bushes wear out quite quickly. As always though, buy on condition and not age. A pristine 1984 350i will always be more sort after than a 1988 350i which has a totally rusty chassis and knackered interior.
This seems like a good, straight car. www.pistonheads.com/sales/81714.htm Not messed with, correct wheels, immaculate chassis, quite low milage but a daily driver, along with S/S exhaust, power steering and 4 new tyres. I'd be going to see it!
