Okay, I'm ready for the Lax-Power-related flames, but this is a serious question so in between baseball caps could someone please help?

I want to change the 'Personal' steering wheel from my Chim to something a bit shinier - to my mind all the Leven accessories are kinda let down by the pretty staid wheel. I'm thinking of a Momo, but the offset of the grub screws is different so I'd need a new boss kit. So two questions to the gurus...

1) Is there any aftermarket manufacturer making wheels with the same offset as the 'Personal' ones, so that I could buy a wheel and switch it straight over?
2) If not, is the standard TVR boss the same as another car (ie Ford Escort or something) so that I can ask the shop for the correct kit? I doubt that they will know what to get for a TVR considering they'll be mostly used to Fiestas, Escorts and Novas!

I appreciate your help!

I have a MOMO race steering wheel which I have had for about 4 years!!, Always take it with me to whatever car I have. I have it on my chimaera and it looks really nice, matches all the leventech/zertec extras. I ordered a TVR boss from Halfords, sorry!!!!, but make sure you get the momo boss not a cheap copy as the copies don't fit correctly!!!!. Alternatively the switch gear and column is all vauxhall so a vauxhall boss might do it!!, Will search out the box for you and let you know the code!!!
cheers

I don't knwo if you saw 5th gear the other week when the Tamora was on but I noticed that TVR had replaced the black steering wheel with a crome effect. Perhaps you can now get these from the factory direct as an option. Any one out there know this for a fact. Must admit it did look good!

RCA - that boss code / part # would be great. I'm looking at fitting a Momo 'Fighter' (wood & leather) wheel onto the Chimaera but am having difficulty finding a boss to fit...

Right have found the box!!!!, The number on the white sticker on the box is 12112116605, The number on the order sticker which I guess is specific to Halfords is 980 656, Then it just says Momo Bosskit TVR Steering Wheel Hubs. Hope this helps!!
cheers

Update! I actually cracked right on and bought a wheel yesterday and with a little research in the Lax Power shop found out that the boss was Momo part number 6605 - a very common Vauxhall part which was in stock! I therefore spent the whole day in my car yesterday installing it, a load of leven accessories and Sat Nav! Pics to follow when the rain finally stops - looks great though - a complete transformation.

Thanks for the advice though people - even though I didn't come online to read it until AFTER I'd done the deed!

Cheers,
Gaz

My Chimaera came with a woodern steering wheel with chrome spokes... which i thought was horrid so asked them to give me a proper steering wheel with black spokes and leather cover. ok not helpful I know.
