Hi Folks
Thought you may like to see the STAR car at our Mid Essex Meet last Sunday....

Campbell's 4.5 Cerb will be well known to many TVRcc members as it has often been featured in Sprint.

It has recently undergone several upgrades....some of which can be seen in the piccys...but one of the many significant changes is the addition of nitrous.

I am reliably informed, (because I'm a real numptey when it comes to technicalities!!!)...that it now has.....

'a progressive nitrous delivery package, giving a 2 second build up to an extra 60 bhp'....

The Cerbera is now capable of 440bhp....

Now....I may be a numptey....but even I know that's by fast......

Here are the pics........

So the Cerb may be able to keep up with the Tuscan S now ...

One question is does the rear spolier actually help stablity or is it just for show. I wonder how the car would handle at 185mph at Bruntingthorpe ???

Looks the DB's though

I have it on the best authority that the Cerb has already well exceeded the 185mph mark.........

so does the owner go around saying 'i live my life a quarter of a mile at a time...'?

those lights make the car look too tall. hmm. should have fitted proper speed 12 style lights. oh he did! just that the third light ruins it. maybe the third light should have been where the indicator is and have a tiny indicator in its original position?

and that grill looks like it holds a large chicken behind it. only you can't see it. guess his big hen's gone (reckon it'd look better with a "smaller" mesh).

like the tuscan racer style intakes. defo nono with the spoiler unless it has front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser or it just looks like its bolted on as an after thought. if you're gonna do it, then do it properly!

as for nos... rather have an engine upgrade that gave the power all the time. never know when you'd need it!

is this because i disagree with the execution of the styling?

I remember the article in Sprint before the NOS injection and yes, the spoiler is for downforce and stability. It didnt go into prices, but lets just say that it was rather expensive and he had to hunt around the world for it - if memory serves me, I think he got it in the US and we are talking thousands....

It aids high speed stability and improves the airflow for a bit more downforce. But like most aerodynamic additions - its only of use at greater than the speed limit anyway....

Cheers,

Paul

Whatever floats your boat....
A bit too max-power for me I'm afraid. Does it have big boom-boom speakers in the back too?

Might go fine in a straight line, but my preference would be for mods that made the car better round the twisty bits. I'm always non-plussed about the idea of top-end speed - a house-brick on the loud pedal could make a car go just as fast as a driver in a straight line. More keen to see how it would go on a track day.

Yep, there was a photo of a readout on a GPS mounted in a Cerbera that showed 200.x mph, just over the double ton. Didn't know they were geared that high...

It kind of reminds me of the Plymouth Roadrunner with it's huge high rise tail at the back!

Love the front lights and in fact all the mods!

PS. Where are those wheels from?

I think that was Ben Pike's car. Never found out if that was for real or wether he recorded it in an aeroplane (at takeoff) or something

I believe it has been, there was an article in sprint in the last year or so which indicated that the car had had all its suspension settings optimised to the best possible level. I'll try and find the article.
