Got home yesterday to find that the cover had been taken of the Chim and stuffed underneath it! Most peculiar Have to confess that I've been getting a bit slack about putting the lock on recently, but think this is just a bit bizarre. Have now locked it back on, and I suppose I'll just have to wait and see if anybody tries it again (though with the lock on, it should be difficult!) Short of wiring up CCTV, can't think what else to do. Ah, the joys of living in SW17

could it be a warden trying to check your parking permit/tax ?

Alternatively maybe a potential thief checking to see how quickly it was put back ?

Curiosity? Or maybe when they saw it was a TVR they decided not to nick/damage it.

Is it me or are they not allowed to touch it? I've seen a report on bikes and scooters that park illegally (well, on the pavement) and cover up the number plate and tax disk. Apparently wardens are not allowed to intefere with the vehicle so they can't see the bikes details. Therefore they can't issue a ticket.

If that's true you can be damn sure that the money-grabbing little Hitlers that now run Council parking (or lack of it) will close that loophole before I've finished typing this!

When parking was 'decriminalised' last year, the number of traffic wardens in Colchester went up from 2 to 22... so I don't go to the 'verboten' city any more!

I had my cover nicked from SW18 a few years back. Very annoyed.
