Gloves.....?

With the iminent colder weather approaching...I still want to go topless.....(S3)

Unlike VBH....

Hat, Coat, Scarf etc I can do but, I want a good pair of Driving Gloves...

What can you suggest...???
Do you all use them...???
Aluminium Gear knob...(bloody cold first thing)

I want a good pair of proper racing driving gloves, leather/kevlar etc..
Does anyone know where the best place is to get them..??

pleased you asked this. I, too, am triply keen to continue with the topless motoring, but it's getting frickin' cold out there - especially at XXXmph.

I drove 100 or so miles on Sunday and my fingers were blue by the end of it.

Are driving gloves acceptable? Will I look like a cloth-capped gentleman behind the wheel of a Volvo? Can convertible sportscar drivers get away with gloves?

I can see it being a problem in an S, but surely in a 500 Griff you can just angle the vents to your hands and get warm air blowing past. That works for me in the Chim.

The problem is that the aluminium gear stick and hand brake are friggin' freezin' I can hardly get the brake off when it's really cold - wimp I know

When we got the Griff we talked about gloves and weren't really sure - bit sissy! So we decided to hang on and see how bad it got and what other people do...! Nothing like being a trend setter!

At the mo I just use an ordinary pair of black leather gloves first thing in the morning and then as soon as the alumium bits warm up - off come the gloves!

My hats quite cool tho - it's got devil horns and a little devil tail seemed like a good idea at the time

Indeed you can but only on the left hand, the right hand freezes! Rich...

If you've got the roof off and it's cold WTF not wear a pair of gloves for chrisake? You're driving a car man not taking part in a fashion parade. BUT... if you wear a pair of blue kevlar racing gloves on the road you WILL look like a knobstick.

OK, let's keep it on topic - all us hairdressers in Griffs know a thing or two on this one.........I raised the same question some months back, and ended up slipping Mr John Lewis a crisp tenner for some very ordinary gloves that are (part) black leather and with a bit of material over the back (NO, not string back style!!! ) which do the job very nicely.

Clearly they're overshadowed by the hat - so they'll go nicely unnoticed.
