Merry Christmas to you all,
Does any one know where the best place to buy private plates is and what is the procedure for changing the plates. ie. is it more hastle than its worth.
Ive got to that stage of Christmas day where you get a bit bored and start thinking of new things to do to the TVR.

Cheapest place is the DVLA, but their supply is drying up rapidly since they started to aggresively advertise:

www.dvla-som.co.uk

Prices for old style plates start at £250 and that includes VAT and transfer fee. If you are buying from a broker remember to add the assignment fee (£80) and add VAT to the whole lot.

To assign the plate, wait until the certificate of entitlement arrives on your mat then take, car, copy of tax disk, log book and certificate to your local DVLA office, they will then issue you with a replacement tax disk and ask that you return the old one, you are then free to change the plates over. I have done this 4 times so far and as yet they have not asked to inspect the car but they are withing their rights to do so if they feel like it.

I'd love to know what AUD 10 (Audio or Audi 0) would be worth then! (Owned by an old friend of mine and last time I saw it was on a knackered old Fiesta van.)

Essex CC used to own 'F1' - I saw it on a grey Scorpio years ago. They sold it for a large amount

They also owned the 'OO' series, including OO7 - don't know if they still own it though.
