My Uncle has a Mazda dealership and I had a run out in the New RX8. As he can do me a good deal and I can get the VAT back I'm going to get one... but I don't want to sell the Chim.... I only have room for one car and don't want to put her in storage.. Has anyone ever hired out there Chim or any TVR.

TomPob you might get a bigger audience in General TVR stuff and gossip and stuff, I know it's a Chim but more that that it's a TVR!

Some P/Her's may not venture into this forum but they will pick it up in Gen TVR.

If you want it moved just shout!

Not many companies successfully hire out TVRs. Those that have seem to suffer at the hands of inexperienced drivers writing them off.

The insurance would be rather expensive I suspect too!

Yeah thats what I was thinking....Prob is, I don't want to get rid, but can't warrant having two cars with the milegae I do... The Chim has a role bar and bigger breaks, so I could set it up as a track car..but again can't warrant the expense.. i know what you all think..why by the RX8 then..just keep the Chim.. well its just the the deal I get on the Rx8 is too good to turn down...but I still love the Chim...arrrgh..help me someone.

If you don't need the money from the Chim to buy the RX8, is there absolutly nowhere you can keep the Chim? I don't know where you live, but can you rent a garage nearby? A mate had to rent a garage due to having nowhere to keep his kit car.... until he moved house anyhow!

You cant buy everything just because its a good deal.

Write down the pros and cons and decide from that.
Or perhaps rent a garage and use the Chim for wkends only.

I know I can buy everything because its a good deal.. But the RX8 is also a very good car... Think the idea of the garage may be a good one....spose summer runs at the weekend in the Chim would be good...

Did you want to hire out the car long term or for weekends etc?

I guess people could organise their own insurance for it?

Long term Hire..The RX8 would prob be around for a year or so before the depreciation out ways the deal, then it would be back to the TVR.

You could offer it to the Classic Car Club, maybe even as a membership deal, then take it back after a year. Birmingham branch used to have one. Look at the website: www.classiccarclub.co.uk/ for national info.
