Witty Number Plates.. anyone?
Discussion
Having been walking the Dog down a tiny little lane in the back end of beyond in Herefordshire at the weekend and been confronted by a Pearlescent Green Tuscan coming towards me.. (It was weird I'll tell you!).. has anyone got a more appropriate numberplate than theirs:
L1SEN "Listen"
I thought it was pretty good
Cheers,
Matt.

Theres a fella around here somewhere thats just bought a new Tuscan S and his reg number (I wont post it in case he feels like I do about broadcasting reg numbers) is the best I have seen for a while. Its a new 02 number but the letters surrounding it are superb!
However, the best two that I have ever seen were years ago, and if you are reading I doff my cap to you, were on two rosso red/magnolia Testarossa's. The first one reads NOT 1 and the second one reads BUT 2. The full significance of which doesnt hit you until they are parked next to each other - marvellous!
On the subject of reg numbers, I bought a select reg back in October when I bought the car. I hadnt got round to fitting it and found the plates for the reg that reminded me and I've gone and lost the paperwork (DOH!). Does anyone know if you can get duplicates?
Matt.

I saw a yellow Cerbera at Silverstone once with the numberplate BAD 541T. Bear in mind that the 5 was rather curved and the 4 wasn't closed at the top. Loved it so much, I took a photo.
Also, I posted on here a couple of months ago that I'd seen a Merc AMG C36 or C44 or whatever with the numberplate M3 TWT, which made me laugh out loud.
Best new style plate I've seen was just last week on the Basingstoke ring road. A bright red Corvette with the numberplate TE51CLE.

Plotloss, where did you see the not 1 but 2 plates? They were in the Hertfordshire region (radlett) and were both on mercedes SL's. I think that was around 2 years ago. Similar area saw a Range Rover with plate "not 2 b"!
Also, on a TVR Cerbera around 2 years ago, saw the plate "RAP 1D".

My old Chim was L131DOD, which could be made to look like LIBIDO
My old neighbor had a mini reg SUC 69 0F (and it never occured to her why people sniggered at it!)
Finally, I remember seeing a Merc convertible at Donnington Park once in the early 1990s with the reg PEN15 so I think that one must be right up there with the best!

Ninja,
They were near to Nigel Mansell sports cars when that was open (could still be I suppose) they were parked in someones drive down there, I'll never forget them though.
The Range Rover you speak of NOT 2B currently lives in Chelsea Harbour or thereabouts, with its brethrin - 2B.
Another couple from round my way growing up are ADM 1N, D1 RTY, 33 RPM (one of my faves) and on a 750iL my old next door neighbour - MUS 1C.
I think we should have a system like the US where as long as its not offensive, and no one got it you can have anything 6 letters or less. I had BOLLOX (not a swear word out there) and SORTED while I was out there.

On Old Bond St years ago, just where it meets another road, not sure of the name but Gucci is on the corner, there used to be a single parking space that was always occupied by a brand new metallic black 911 Turbo with the registration TUR 130.
Haymill Saab in Slough have SAA 131 which is nice with the right spacing.
