Can someone please email through my profile the process for putting down (and back) up the roof on the Griff?

Also, please can someone explain the heater controls?

I have a J-reg Griff on loan from the factory whilst my T350c is in and if it stops snowing for the weekend I plan to do some open top motoring.

Cheers

Well the heater controls are there for form rather than function (ie they don't have much effect).

The roof is removed by pulling the aluminium struts forwards and lifting out the centre section. The back "targa" section then folds down (NB: yes it is supposed to stick up along way so you can't see over it ). Try not to get any creases in the plastic window. The centre section now goes in the boot BUT it will only go in one way. Always use the bag if it has one.

Hold the section with the curved edge (front) pointing towards the floor and the top, or outside bit, away from you. Now tip the section so that your left hand edge is lower than the right hand edge and now slide this into the boot first. As it goes in strighten the angle and push the left hand edge as far over as it will go. The section should now be in the boot and a little bit of wiggling around and you should be able to even close it.

See dead easy - right.

A lot of people mention that the heaters are a fairly crude affair but it works ok on my K reg griff. Just lucky I guess!

The knob obviously controls the fan speed, 1,2 or 3. The top switch is for setting the temperature, I think cold is to the left and hot is to the right. The lower contol is for the directional flow of air. Set to the left it will direct air flow to the screen and the dash vents. Set to the left it will direct air flow to the footwells. Make sure the vents in the footwell are open or closed as desired.

Hold the controls down for a bit as it takes some time for the motors to move from one setting to the other. You should also hear a buzzing noise as the motors move. I think I've got the settings the right way round and this all assumes of course that your car is 'standard' (if there ever is such a thing with TVR's )

dont forget to undo the velcro at the roof sides first.heater controls:-bottom left is air re-circ,turn fully clockwise for fresh air, anti clock for re-circ.top left:-controls temp, clockwise is hotter and only when fully anti-clockwise will you stand a chance of cold air(then only if its set right and only then in winter).if car has air-con you press this switch to turn on/off,indicated by blue light.bottom right:-turn clockwise to direct air to screen, anti clock to feet and dash vents, also press this switch to activate heated seats, indicated by adjacent yellow light.top right:-cotrolls fan speed, turn clockwise to increase speed.pressing this switch turns the fan on/off and also the side mirror demist at the same time-once turned on,the demist function will stay on for 3 mins then self off indicated by adjacent red light.hope this helps,cheers-mv edited to say, sorry, ive just noticed youve probably got the earlier type heater controls!!

Not sure I have the same controls. This one is a J plate and an absolute minter - plus it has some leven bits I think - so could well be far from standard.

I have four pots, similar in design to the heater and light controls in the T350/Tamora, all down by the handbrake. Top right control fan speed (or at least seems to be the 'volume' control for the fan - not sure they push anymore air though) - the rest I really can't tell.

Great car though - not as hard and fast as the T350c, more of a gentleman's racecar for the road - goes like a stabbed rat as the saying goes.

Weird. Sounds like your heater control panel as been modified/replaced with that of the later model. Ignore my instructions! Yours 'should' work something like how mongoose has stated.

Nice one - thanks guys. Fingers crossed for no rain/snow/sleet at the weekend so I can get the roof off...

...fingers crossed for very little snow for the rest of the week as well so I can actually get to work.
