It's crystal topaz, is there any chance of a repair job? Or do you think a respray is going to be needed.

I am really sorry to hear about this. Disgraceful.

Depending on the depth of the scratch then Chipsaway can polish out and/or touch up some scratches. Get your local chap to take a quick look...our local fellow did a fine job on some scratches on the boot lid of my Porsche.

If they can't fix it they'll tell you up-front that you need a respray.

To be honest, going on what you've said, a respray will be necessary - but why not see if something less dramatic would work.

The only up-side is that if you DO have a respray it'll take care of every last one of the inevitable GRP stonechips...

Oh Neil I'm really sorry to read your news, I feel sick for you. I was out with some other TVR owners this morning, a Cerb(Andy4200) has had exactly the same treatment. He's going down the respray route as the scratch is through to the GRP.

I've had a pot of touch up paint made at the factory, if you think it could be of any use to you let me know.

I feel really sorry for you. These people are simply the scum of the earth, and i just wish there was something we could do about em.

There has been an alarming number of such incidents being reported on PH at the moment - i am getting to the stage where i wont take my Cerb out anywhere which requires it to be parked up (but not an issue at the mo as the darn thing wont start!)

I'm going to try the LANGKA route as a temporary measure, hopefully this week. If I get results I'll post a few piccies of before and after.

Just to add...so sorry to hear that this has happened, especially when you have not had it so long. I'm always nervous of leaving the car anywhere unattended - so only leave it in what I feel are safe circumstances, often only with other TVRs. I doubt that it would make a satisfactory repair other than for a complete respray. Please let us know the circumstances that this happened under...and keep us posted on what the outcome is. Chin up (tho' easier said than done).

Of course, if you don't mind leaving it parked in the same area again as a decoy car....we could introduce Mr Scrote to Mr B@$eball bat on your behalf.

I'm with you on the "why do people do this", far too much of it happens, its completely unnecessary and just shows what a sick joke world we live in.

Gut wrenching I know, your car is the best colour combo IMO aswell, little ba**ards.

Still, although it is vandalism and heart breaking it is still an acknoledgement of how beautifull your car is, otherwise jealousy would not have been a motivator?

I think it's just an acknowledgement of the state of moral decay of this country, and lack of respect all the inbred fcks have.

I work friggin hard to be able to afford such luxuries.

I left it in the Hospital car park where I work, at the start of another 12 hour shift in A&E. On the way into the hospital I passed a bunch of lads, I don't like generalising but you know the sort, burberry baseball caps, kappa joggers, gold chains etc... Anyway as I got out of the car I spotted them over the road staring at me and the car. I hoped they were just admiring it, but I had a bad feeling something was going to happen.

12 hours later (and one 20 minute break in all that time) I was relieved to see that my tyres weren't slashed, and drove home. My wife woke me with the good news this morning as she noticed the scratch in the daylight.

Obviously I don't know whether it was these lads or not, but in my experience of dealing with this sort of pond life on a daily basis (inevitably as a result of a fight) I'd bet my right bollock on it, and believe me, my bollocks are precious to me.

God I am SO ANNOYED .

PS. thanks for the offer of the paint Jo. I am getting chips away to take a look tomorrow. I will let you know if it is needed.

Neil - I had my first Cerb keyed from front to back a few years ago. Initially I was gutted but then I thought keyed or not I still own a fantastic car, I'll get it sorted and at the end of the day still have a fantastic car. The f**kwit responsible will be no further forward and will still look on in envy for the rest of his hopeless days. Balls to 'em I say. Don't give 'em the pleasure of getting you down.

I've heard of a few S's being keyed as well as a V8S being joy-ridden, so I'm afraid its not limited to the more obviously expensive models.

The problem you've got now Neil is that you won't feel comfortable leaving the Tuscan at the Hospital again. I would recommend you don't !!! Either see if you can get some kind of secure parking or buy a cheap runabout and keep the Tuscan for the weekend.
