Why is it?

Its not unusual to hear a Griffith called a Griffin but one of the companies we deal with (who are heavily involved with the motor trade) list the following options as new TVR models.

1) TVR Turbo
2) TVR Tina (Tina, I ask you!)
3) TVR Speed
4) TVR Griffiths

Is there any hope?

TVR Tina existed. Imp based. Mid/late Sixties.

TVR Speed 8 was almost a model. Got replaced by the GRiffith.

Never heard of it.

I'd heard of the Speed 8 though and as shown in the Bible, the rear lights looked smart. Would'nt mind a set of rear lights like that for my Griff.

For TVR Tina -

I love the way in that article they say AD1965 , as if it might be 1965 BC !!! Rich...

"Looking around A.D. 1965 at small cars that might serve as a basis, obviously the Imp Sport was chosen"

That’s a bit rich from someone who has a ML55 hotted up school run car !! Dull dull dull

And the legendary Merc build quality.. I have seen loads of busted ones on the hard shoulder recently.

FYI - Ian Massey Crosse has a TVR with a tow bar so he can get non-road-legal TVRs around the country on a car trailer. I'm sure I've seen a photo in Sprint of the Le Mans Grantura on his trailer behind another classic Tiv.

Ian drives classic TVRs (he's got at least four of them!). I'm not sure he owns a 'modern' car at all and I think his Taimar is probably the most practical car he owns!

The 520 has a tow bar so I can trail a set of slicks and wets to sprints. Still does a sub-5 second 0-60!

The Tina was named after Gerry Marshall's daughter. A fixed head and a convertible were built, the convertible ended up in the USA and the fhc was with Gerry, undergoing restoration, last time I spoke to him. (a good few years ago!)

edited to say: if I'd read the linked article, I could have saved myself the trouble of posting this!
