TVR's and Tunnels, whats yours called........
Discussion
I'm sure every TVR owner has a tunnel nearby which is on their favourite blatting route. Down on the south coast, we are blessed by the A32/272 route, it just so happens the 272 has a nice little tunnel, not large, but a nice brick built arched railway one, large enough to make you smile
.
Heres a 2 minute video taken this morning between sleet flurries of said Tunnel as ever, thanks to Luca for hosting.
Feel free if you have any clips of your local tunnel to add them, I'd love to see/hear them

Just watched the video - great sounds!!! I like the way you straighten up the road ![]()
0-65. I made that nearer 9.5 seconds
LOL re the timing, wondered like the lights from shnozz, when the Q would come up
. Not very scientific I know, but I played it back a few times to get an acurate figure(ish). I change up at 6Krpm in 1st/2nd so it equates to approx 66mph in 2nd. Don't go by when I say 65, go by the change in exhaust note and the bonnet dropping down a bit i.e. when I change from 2nd to 3rd.
Checking the source video it actually got there at around 4.2 or 4.3 secs

. Shame really but the tape didn't catch the fact that the pull away was intial wheel spin but mainly on the grip/slip/grip limit up to 2nd, it was launched from off the handbrake so it really does fly away.
I'll get an AP22 soon, but I really don't doubt the car can do it repeatedly without having to side step the clutch though, need new tyres soon though

Get on the A27, head for Lewes, and just blast through the Cuilfail(?) tunnel, about 2-300 metres long, and even better there's a roundabout at each end. So its blast, powerslide, blast, powerslide, blast..... hours of fun til the Optimax runs out. Also whilst in the area head along A27 again towards Shoreham and you have the Southwick tunnel, drop it down into 3rd and try not to change into 4th. So loud my head nearly exploded. Would be nice to have some flames for a nightime run through Lewes.
Cheers, Al.

Really tempted to go out and do both now...

South Wales, tunnels under the bay in Cardiff. Good thing is there is a roundabout at the end so you can turn around and blast up the other. OK its 50 but in the right gear
Or the Bryn Glas tunnels at Newport. M Way so 70 in third.........aural sex
Tunnels at Monmouth, not as long as Bryn Glas.
Best one I have scared people in was the tunnels at Donnington. Gave it a quick blip and heard a few pedestrians say "clucking bell"....or words to that effect.

Could you include that in the Brighton Burble on the 7th
on the way out for lunch then Al
. Even better if you can drop the cameraman off to film it from outside always sounds nicer.

nice harry! although the bit where you say "not bad,100 through there" might incriminate you if the police get hold of it!

The Dartford Tunnel... ![]()
Best quid you can spend...
must last a good few minutes, can experiment with the sounds you can generate: different revs, accelerating slowly, accelerating rapidly, engine braking, holding it steady, popping the exhaust... might piss off the guys behind though
there's also the heathrow airport tunnel, and a local narrow, relatively quick one (5 seconds?) with a very low roof in Thames Ditton. First time I did that tunnel I scared myself as the sound is quite intense at over 5000rpm!
