Help required - testing at Donington tomorrow
Discussion
Good afternoon people
Slightly unusual request: I am doing a general test day in the Tuscan at Donington tomorrow.
Unfortunately the team are not able to accompany me on this occasion due to other commitments.
Is there anyone out there with some spare time who would like to come along and help out? Some mechanical experience would be preferable, but failing that enthusiasm and common sense would work.
No specific duties other than helping jack the car up, change wheels, checking tyre pressures and generally be there to help. Lunch will be provided!!
The plus side is you will get VERY close to a variety of race machinery - as well as Tuscans there will no doubt be some GTs testing at at the same time.
If anyone is able to help please e mail me through my profile.
Many thanks
Andy

Bollox.....
Think that sums it up for me too
I can just about work out one end of a spanner from the other and I can suck teeth and scratch chins with the best of them, but no more Holidays for me till the 5th April
and Donington is only 1/2 an hour away
I'd phone in sick, I'm not in the bosses good books anyway and I think the sound of Tuscans/GT's hammering down the start/finish straight in the background of the phone call might give it away

Thanks guys - and especially to Neil and Steve who froze to death in the morning, and battled through the multiple wheel changes all day! Glad you enjoyed it.
Also thanks to BB and the others who conmtyacted me offering help. I'd gone to bed when your text arrived BB (got up at 4.30am to be a Donny in time to blag a pit garage) - kept meaning to call you!!
The day was good overall. The re-surfaced track was cold and slippery in the morning fog, and none of the Tuscans were able to get any heat in the tyres.
Tim Hood, Pete Osborne, Charlie Kemp and Chris Stockton were all out, with the factory team testing on Thursday.
When the sun came out we knocked a few seconds off. Everyone was on very old tyres - I managed a 1.13.85, and Tim Hood was in the 1.12.5's. Qualifying for last year had pole in a 1.11 something. I think the re-surfacing has made the track quicker, but there again we were all on old tyres yesterday which swings it the other way.
1.13.85 would have put me 9th on last year's grid of 18, but its really difficult to judge with the effects of the resurfacing/old tyres.
For me the only incident was a half spin into the gravel - amazing how much kitty litter you can store in a Tuscan!
Fantastic track to drive - I'm really looking forward to the weekend
