Please, could Ted or a mod turn this into a sticky. There are a lot of people travelling a long way to attend this rally and I would hate it if they were to miss it because it's tumbled off the bottom of the page. Thank you in advance.

OK......... to give the long distance travellers a chance, we will be meeting at the Pontins main entrance, at 12.00pm, facing north. It would be a good idea to come in from Lytham St Annes end. This would avoid having to do a U turn on the busy main road.

Here you will all be provided with a map of the route we are taking to Bristol Avenue. As many of you know Blackpool is a very busy Town and it is likely we will be split up at some point. We have tried to make the route as simple as possible.

At approximately 12.45pm we will leave South Shore and head North along the prom until we get to Red Bank Road at Bispham. We will then turn right on to Red Bank Road and continue to the roundabout. At the roudabout we will turn right onto the A587 Bispham Rd. Passing Bristol Avenue, take the next major left onto Moor Park Avenue. Moor Park Avenue is an industrial area and has plenty of places to stop so that we can regroup if necessary. After a couple of hundred yards we will then turn left onto Bristol Avenue and stop outside the factory. We will then be facing the correct way when we leave to meet at the Red Lion pub on Devonshire Road, which is only two minutes away.

Once at the factory we will wait for the production staff to finish their shift. When they start to leave the premises we can give them a huge round of applause, rev our engines, hoot our horns or whatever. Whatever we do can I suggest we respect the people who live around the factory and not cause them any distress.

All the workforce will be invited to join us for a drink at the Red Lion pub on Devonshire Road. I wouldn't expect them to pay for anything so therefore can I suggest we kitty up, say a tenner each, to buy them, what ever they want, to show our appreciation of their skills.

The Red Lion has kindly agreed for us to cordon off part of it's huge car park so that we can park our cars, and also the TVR staff cars. They will also be providing extra bar staff to cater for all of us.

I have also informed the local police of our arrival.

The weather has also been organised and, up to now, it is forcast to be fine, if not, glorious.

Mellow Yellow will be providing small union flags which you can attach to your cars ( in anyway you think fit). These will cost a tenner which will be your contribution to the workers drinks kitty.

Could you please only post on this thread if you require any clarification of the arrangements.

Thank you for all your support,

Dave Chant (NTEL)

The Legal Bit. This is not an organised event, and therefore individuls who decide to join in do so at their own risk. All people who attend are responible for their own health and safety and the health and safety of others who may be affected by your own actions.

Don't think I'll have the Tiv back in time for Friday - but would a Land Rover with a TVR number plate and a TVR Tuscan Challenge flag flying high be able to tag on the end of the convoy??

Cheers - Howard

Edited to say - or I could always bring the trailer & tow the race car behined with a couple of flags attached to the tyre rack??

Any ideas?

Howard, it doesn't matter what you are driving. Your support will be very much appreciated. If you are serious about bringing the race car then that would be fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!

Couple of quick questions: i) What time does the shift finish? ii) Is Smolenski or any of the senior management likely to be at the factory on Friday? Rich...

The factory finish at 2.00pm. I don't know if any of the senior management will at the factory on Friday. I did speak to a member of the senior management this morning but only the let them know what is planned. They are going to ring me back if they feel they need to resolve any issues regarding the rally.

Just a rminder to everybody. This rally isn't about protests or confrontions with management. We are there to support all the lads and lasses who built our cars.

Blimey Martin, beyond the call of duty and all that. I'm sure somebody will have a spare seat for the drive to the factory. Thank you.

Hi Ntel.anyone contacted local TV about this factory support rally, maybe they would like to there too.Afterall the possible shutdown of the TVR factory is probably the biggest thing since man landed on the moon, that is, to us anyway.

Yip. BBC Northwest Tonight are interested in the story. They will confirm on Thursday if the are sending a camera crew. Granada have yet to respond. The Blackpool Gazette will be there.

Should be outside the factory from about 1.15pm. They factory finishes at 2.00pm so you should be in plenty of time depending on the traffic.

I'm glad to tell everyone that Martin Lilley will be joining us on Friday, I didn't have to ask him...he was planning to come along away.

Martin owned TVR from 1965 to 1981, and under his custodianship the M Series and Tasmins were created.

P.S. 40 Union Jack Flags arrived this morning...very discrete 5" x 7" on a 15" wooden stick...So give some thought on how you will attach them to your cars and bring any tape/bluetack etc. required...Weather forecast is dry ... so tops should be off (the cars of course)

That is superb news..........WELL DONE, Mr Lilley your support is greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!

On a personal note, it was the 3000M that got me lusting after the TVR marque from the age of 10. Hope I get the chance to meet him, it will be a great honour for me.

Not only will the weather be dry, its an improving forecast so we should get a bit of sun aswell!!.

Oh my god, I think I've created a monster , although it was Gemini who originally suggested the rally, I just put a date on it and ran with it from there. I've also had a lot of help from the good guys in the Blackpool region.

Pistolar, that is a fantastic gesture. Thank you very much clap

Can you mail me (through my profile) with more details of your order so that I can make sure they deliver.

Add another one to that list.

I don't know the area so why do the detour via Lytham rather than follow the road from the end of the M55 ?

Following the road from the M55 is the quickest way. The only problem is that when you reach the sea front you will have to turn left to Pontins. You will then have to do a U turn on the busy road in order to face North. I suggested coming in from the Lytham end in order to reduce any risks.

Its great that you can make it. Thank you. I'll put you on the list.

Dave.
