Well, hopefully I've managed to procure the passenger seat of a friends ride for Surrey Run 5 and being "well insulated" aren't particularly phased by the prospect of a chill in the air however I think it might be a good idea to get a little wind protection for the lugs and noggin (since I'm getting a bit thin on top).

Any ideas where I could purchase some warm headgear at short notice (i.e. on Saturday) in the Winchester / Southampton / Andover area?

If you had said at the start of the week, im sure Ted could of got this to you in time

Yeah ... I did think of good ol' Ted but it only dawned on me today that - although I might be able to handle sub-zero temeratures normally - an around-zero battering at 70mph (officer) at some ungodly pre-sunrise hour might be a tad colder!

Result!
I got a good hat from :cough: M&S, a bit like a Russian type one with fur on the inside and big ear flaps that drop down, and when you get over 71mph there is a strap to keep it in place!
Actually I think JonRB has one too - he even posted a picture on here once it may be worth a search.

LOL - OK ... So M&S in Hedge End gets a try tomorrow.

For pure impact though I think Shnozz's is best and ideal for TVR motoring

Obviously I missed that one...

Bassfiend, keep an eye out for a green chim (as per my profile) around M & S as I live 30 seconds down the road from there. If not, see ya sunday.

LOL - Might drop you an email later through PH then and maybe say hello tomorrow when I'm down there.

Oh and that's a grey Chim on your profile...
