I had a lucky escape today, TVR keys in my pocket after moving cars around and we took mrs car to local recycling centre to dump detritus from summer house. Long story short I lost my keys, returned to dump to find them handed in, a short dry out later and all is well............but, it was a lesson learnt.

I have a spare ignition key, red card and alarm plugin fob (usb type thing that goes into slot next to ign barrel).

But have no spare alarm remote, so what are my options?

(Im based in Essex, so if a trip to Carl is the only option I want to be sure).

If you have the red card then you can get a new remote coded to your system mail order. I got a couple from Abacus alarms but I know Carl Baker has a big following on here.

I got one of these as a backup spare.

You can swap the internals into a key fob if you want.

I spoke to Sam today, hope for my delivery tomorrow morning........will let you know more in due course.

Oh, and Colin, detritus is a friend of Asterisk and Obelisk.......

I'm kidding, it was 10 years worth of crap that filled up the summer house turning it into a temporary store room for the Essex recycling community.

So, today I fitted a new alarm unit, siren and immobiliser, and it all works. So thats good.

My siren never used to sound and I only had one fob, after talking to Sam i decided to replace the whole lot and its not that difficult if your reasonably handy with a soldering iron (for the immobiliser connections) and although I spent most of the day on it (did some other bits while the dash was off and washed it) its probably no more than a couple of hours work...........providing (as mine was) all coded ready to plug and play.

So i'm a happy chappy.
