Peninsula at Yeovilton this weekend

Planes, cars and "loads of TVR people"

TVR dealer Peninsula Cars will be showing off its race car at Yeovilton's Air Day is this Saturday. As well as the car and "loads of TVR people", according to boss Richard Smith, there wil be a five hour flying display.

Planes featured include many Navy aircraft types depicting this year's theme of the Evolution of Maritime Aviation. Fast jets include the Belgian F16 and German Tornado, as well as the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, the Royal Navy Historic Flight and a vintage fly-in for something a little quieter but just as impressive. After a four-year absence, the world-famous RAF Red Arrows Display Team will again be performing.

I wonder will they have the fireflies flying? I think my grandfather worked on these when he was stationed at Yeovilton.

IIRC they lost the Firefly and two crew in an accident at Duxford last year. Very sad loss and a risk inherent in flying these historic aircraft.
