TVR Sagaris changes emerge

Latest pictures of production car from ride & drive day

The TVR Sagaris is to have its controversial wheel arch vents sealed, according to a source who took these pictures of the first production Sagaris at a Ride and Drive Day at Belfry, at which over a dozen TVR dealers were present. Apparently, the tyres were flicking up muck and stones onto the paintwork and chipping it. However, you will be able to order the car as a track day special without the vents sealed.

The first production Sagari (pl.) will, we hear, arrive at dealers on the week of the 21 February -- all will arrive on the same day to avoid the competitive issues that staggered timing can generate.

We hope to bring you more pictures soon.

What about a special 'retract' button that opens the vents.

I thought they were stuffed with foam to stop just this problem but still allow air out.

Surely that couldn't be too tricky to sort out. Mesh filter anyone?

think the exhausts are novel and i love the wheels but other than that it looks like someone went a bit maxpower on the gorgeous t350

So, hold on. Does this mean that the vents will still be there but will be sealed shut and therefore not actually do anything?

Isn't that even more pointless than having them? They were bad enough before but were justified as being necessary for aerodynamic reasons.

I must say, though, the Saggy-arse is starting to grow on me a bit.

I like always and always will, think it looks awesome.
Cant understand the Vent reason liek others said/foam mesh etc retractable vents at a push of a button nice idea.
Makes you wonder though that if someone buys one(non trackday special) then takes it on the track at a later date how well the brakes will perform... if the vents do that a good a job of cooling.

Guess the answer is to all order the Trackday Special.. is that gonna be more or less

What's with these side exit exhausts? I can't see any technical advantage so I guess they're doing it for cosmetic reasons. But I think they look ugly from the side and terrible from the back. The original 'fat bum' design was appalling, the current one isn't as bad but still doesn't work for me. Does anyone think they look better than conventional rear exit exhausts?

Is there any non-Flash version of the TVR site anywhere? Otherwise, any TVR dealers have quality sites - especially with detailed specs please?

Thanks

I wondered why they dont use mess as well. But thinking about it if stones are thrown up at high speed and directly hit the mesh it could be damaged. It would need to be made of at least 2mm steel IMO to withstand abuse. Mud may also build up and block the mesh, requiring cleaning out.

I'm sure there must be a solution to keep them, but it would probably just cost too much.

The wheel louvres on Radicals have a strong steel mesh on the inside - seems to work fine. I think the louvres are to reduce pressure in the wheel arch, and also allow the brake cooling ducts to work better.

6 & half dozen. Still cosmetically looks the same, and who here is really going to notice the difference on the road? Also, will the exhausts not take a pummelling from stone chips off the back wheels? Not much good if you are trying to maintain a chrome polished look

Awesome motor! It may tempt be back to the fold

Who is going to be the first to put those wheels onto a Tuscan/Tamora/T350?

Oooooooooooooh!! I want one in black!!!!

I can see where the comments about Max Power-esque styling come from, but I think the slats and vents look fantastic on the Sagaris. It's a good contrast to the smoother styled Chims and Cerbies, and the also gorgeous, all-curves Tuscan.

Gimme, gimme, gimme!!

I asked about the side exit of the cans sometime ago, i was told at the time that the Sagaris uses the Tuscan S exhasut system and tuning, which is longer than the T350, hence they had to turn them to side exit at the end or they would stick too far out at the back
