We're going along to Prodrive on Sunday morning to have a close look at the new Marcos coupe. We're looking for a TVR owner who might be in the market for the Marcos to join us for a couple of hours and give their opinion on the new car. If you'd like to come along, email johnb@evo.co.uk

Cheers,
Peter T

So...... just to get this straight.........

The Marcos Owners Club factory visit is cancelled, as they are, apparently, a 'security risk'.

But a bunch of TVR, Ultima, Noble and Porsche owners, not to mention a motoring journalist and accompanying photographer are more than welcome.

Nice one Mr Stelliga.......

I hope they've got the interior sorted.
It was a mess when we went to the Motor show at Birmingham and even the sales reps on the stand said that it needed working on in order to compete with TVR....

A lot of work too to be anything close to the style of TVR interiors.

Oooh, oooh, oooh.... I want one. Only I sold the Tiv for the XKR whilst I wait for it to come out. And I'm doing a day's rallying near Coventry tomorrow.

Great car!!
Drove it on friday road and track.Handles very well and has bags of grunt from very low revs and is deceptively quick. The interior is far ahead in quality stakes thatn the TVR's in my view. You can actually smell the leather not glue. Good lateral support.
I know where my monies going next year!
Spent 4hrs at prodrive and all the staff were vey helpful including a small powerpoint presentation and chat with Mr Stelliga.
Got back in the T350 and still think that the car was great.
The Marcos is more of a tourer than an out an out sports car. Dont get me wrong its quick but its comfortable and has a firm but well damped ride. You would be quite happy cruising at 60. In the TVR it wants to be driven hard and revved to get the best from the engine.
Lot of money if you want the 475HP version with full leather. Takes it close to other prestige marques.
I think they will do alright wih the investment they seem to be making. They defnately have the handling sorted noticebly set up for slight understeer but ver easy to get the back out and drift. The brakes are AP Racing and stop very well and quietly ( Tvrs i have driven tend to groan a bit under moderate and heavy braking)
Overall gets the thumbs up but there are two things i would change. The first thing is to put a sports exhaust to hear all the grunt/V8 roar that the 5.7 itre engine makes. I would also play around with the gearing as the first three seem a bit short and 6th is definately an overdrive.
If anyone is interested is trying the car i suggest ringing Chiara at Marcos and speak to her.01676 536004.
