Farting Chimp

When my Chimp's tank is below 3/4 full, on starting the engine I hear a loud(ish) botty-belch type sound from the boot area which lasts for about 5 - 10 seconds.

Could it be related to this banging problem?

Is this just the filler cap venting?

It's not a "bee-in-a-jam-jar" type noise is it?

Just wondered 'cos that's the return fuel pump whirring away. Just does it for a couple of seconds - from the driver's seat it sounds like it's coming from the passenger side of the car......

Yeah, it kinda sounds like that but only when the tank's less than 3/4 full (stops again when nearly empty)

yes, i get that too, never lasts more than a few seconds but it is quite amusing for my mates as they first hear the lovely V8 and exhaust, only to be followed up with a not-so-discrete "fart" sound afterwards...!!
