Hi,

I have a camper van, 4 tonnes max total weight, front axle 2.0T max and rear axle 2.5T max, Fiat Ducati Maxi.

It is currently fitted with Vanco Camper tyres 225/75 16 which are CP rated.

They give an awful ride. So firm.

I think this is due to the stiff sidewall needed to qualify as a CP tyre.

The van is used everyday and doesn’t stand around so I want to move to C tyres for a softer, more comfortable ride.

If you’re a tyre fitter, in your experience which van tyre in 225 75 16 fitment will have the softest sidewall and hence the most comfortable ride?

My van is old enough for CP not to be invented when it was registered so I need to have C tyres.

It currently has 116 CP at only 55psi front and 65psi rear.

Rear suspension is fine but the front crashes and bangs all over the place. Just need to find a way to soften it down.

fking hell 116 must be like driving with hard rubber fitted !

For 2.5T yeah the Michelin should be much better.

Trouble is after a few his and miles you’ll find them hard as well as you get used to them.

Just found this which gives a bit more info.

116 is the lowest I can go. Most vans my weight have 121’s

Michelin Agilis Cross Climates (not the camper van version) give a much better ride than the campervan tyres which were fitted previously. 3.5t van with 225/65 x 16.
(Not a tyre fitter)
I’ve had Agilis cross climates before on a previous van but I had nothing else to compare to on that van as I never changed tyres.

Have you changed from CP tyres to Agilis Cross Climate and got a better ride? If so, that’s really useful info.
