Afternoon all.

I'm seeking some advice regarding spray waxes, so I'm hopefully you guys can assist me.

I currently use a Mothers Spray Wax, however (and for whatever reason) Mothers products are bacoming increasingly difficult for me to buy.

So, what other brands could you guys please recommend me?
Many thanks in advance,

Darren

For what purpose are you using the spray wax? By that I mean - is it just for an easy way of applying a wax?

If it's for beading and protection, you could use something like GTechniq EXO - spray and wipe to apply (when temperature is warm) and the beading is brilliant and scratch protection very good.

That is precisely the reasons for a spray; I just find it quicker and easier smile

I forewarn you it's not cheap (EXO is £125 a can, but gives many applications) and they do other stuff too like C1 (I think that's what it's called). It's use is the same though and highly recommended by lots of detailing guys.

You can put a wax over the top of the EXO as well if you like, but if you like to clean your car regularly (once every few weeks) and keep the EXO topped up then I don't believe you'll need it.

when was the last time you tried a hand applied wax? They are a lot easier to use than they used to be, a lot can be left on the panel in sunlight for quite a while and still be very easy to buff back off

Thank you for the additional information regarding the EXO.

I tend to wax all our cars at (the very) least once a month. I occasionally apply two coats.
I am use to my current wax supply lasting up to a year. Do you guys have any idea as to how long this kind of wax would last, considering the usage across 5 cars? (I am aware that question might be of the "how long is a piece of string" type.) wink

As for my usage of hard waxes, I admit it's been a good number of years. I found the spray waxes easy to use, and so stuck with them. Considering the situation with Motherd availability, I'm now having to move away from these waxes.

I have also tried creams, but never really got on with them.

Many further thanks,

Darren

I've never got on with spray waxes or quick detailer.

Much prefer traditional waxes. Better results and no more time consuming.

Thank you all for the further replies smile

mneame: The MOTHERS FX Spray Wax mentioned, is my current wax! I was finding it impossible to buy.
Is this MOTHERS UK website new? Do they have everything in stock? scratchchin

PJ S: Thank you for your suggestions. I'll look in to those, too.

As for hard waxes, maybe it is something to consider for the future.

Further thanks for the extra suggestions and advice, everyone. It is certainly appreciated smile

Picked up a bottle of simoniz detailer wax spray at halfords because it was cheap and to my surprise not a bad product considering its price of £7. Found it better than meguiars spray on waxes.

Hi chaps,

This EXO spray, just watched the Youtube vid - can anyone apply this, or is it pro's only?

I meant anyone can apply it.

I have already followed up all the thread on DetailingWorld about it and is something I intend to do to my car once I get it properly cleaned and polished.
