The time is coming for me to prepare my Esprit front bumper which is chipped in places. It looks like only the clear is chipped. Two questions really, is the prep for fibre glass the same, ie, wet and dry carefully then primer then paint then clear, or is it completely different for F/G. . . i am more used to spraying Cellulose, so any advice will be useful, i guess Lotus's from this period (its a 1998 car) will be celly ?

one key point is to try to avoid ingress of water as this will end in pinhole bubbles appearing a year down the line... so dont wet and dry as liberally as a metal panel.... but in truth best to speak to your local paint supplier.

Certainly not. Cellulose went out with manufacturers in the late 1960s / early 70s.

If you are simply removing the clear lacquer then use a DA sander with (about) 400 grade paper to remove it. Then prime and paint as normal.
