Solar Panels - worth it?
Discussion
I find it interesting that many Australians fit A/C to their house so they dont get too hot in the 3 months of the year when it's really required yet they dont give much thought to the 3 months of the year where it's cold!
As more and more copy-and-paste type homes are build, piled on top of each other, surely double glazing would be worth it for the noise insulation factors alone?
I guess we must be in the minority because our roof space has a good 250mm insulation on the top side of the ceiling, but then it was built originally by a man from Poland so perhaps that's why.
When we first moved here we stayed in a $1.5M home right on the coast which was probably less than 5 years old. During a September storm the rain came into the bedroom by simply running between the window frame and sill. I dont imagine that happening in a $250k English house let along a $1.5M one!
