really doub question here, but if you get a license in queens and then move to NSW or Wester for example, do you have to change your license each time?
If you move interstate you can only use a license from another state for 3 months. We've just moved over here and initially went to QLD to see the in-laws. We had such a difficult time proving ID that we went and got QLD licenses (they use them a hell of a lot for ID purposes here). Now We've moved to Melbourne we need to go and get Vic licenses (and re-register the car because it can only be driven on QLD plates for 3 months).Mind you, I've read on Vicroads website that I don't need to get a Vic license because I'm in on a temporary resident visa and can use my UK one for the duration of the visa.
It also quite clearly states that they will give you your UK license back if you use it to get a Vic one.

Got done for 137/110.
If was doing another 3kms faster I would have lost my licence for 3 months.
Stay away from this anti-car country
Wow! 85MPH, probably on the open road, middle of nowhere? If was doing another 3kms faster I would have lost my licence for 3 months.

145KPH (90MPH) here on the "freeway" (!) and you will be charged as a "hoon" and risk not only your licence but also having the car confiscated.
Australia really is the home of cynical target and revenue based traffic enforcement. Nothing at all to do with road safety, that would be too hard (and not raise as much money)
