Vanwall (by Ronart) at Classics on the Green at Croxley. It has two seats and a 4.4-Litre Ferrari V12 engine.

God, I want that Zephyr.

I saw these last Saturday on the motorway, I think they might have been going to the Ford Fair at Silverstone.

Please can we NOT have any Beauford in this thread!

I can just about stomach a kit car that looks like no Vanwall I ever saw and with three times as many cylinders but please, NO B***** BEAUFORDS.

Black (I think, it was dark!) Aston Martin DB4 just before Heathrow on the M4 heading into London. Looked and sounded fantastic!

Interesting choice of engine, don't they usually have 6 litres Jag engines?

I know of a couple of Ronarts and of one that is currently under construction. All three are based on XJ6 4.2 running gear, and Ronarts early cars were Jaguar based. Having seen the amount of room under the bonnet any V12 must be a squeeze...

I think most Ronart W152s have straight-six Jaguar engines (3.8 or 4.2 XKs or 4.0 AJ6) or Jaguar V12 (5.3).

Ronart Drivers Club said:
It appears that there will never be a Mark 3 version of the W152. The factory acquired the rights to the name Vanwall, and two cars have been built to date. The first is a single-seater V12-powered car*, and the second a two-seater Ferrari V12-powered car - really the successor to the Ronart W152.
(*I believe the single-seater mentioned above has a Lotus 2.2-litre 4-cylinder engine, not a V12)

Ah, yes, Vanwall. Tony Vandervell used to test his Grand Prix cars on the road late at night in as unlawful a manner as it is possible to imagine. He really didn't give a toss.

Didn't the single seater start out as a V12 ?

It was at the Revival many moons ago on a trade stand at the edge of the Pre-65 car park. The promotional material gave every impression the engine was a tad bigger than 2.2

Saw that at VSCC Prescott, looked fantastic. Anyone know any more about it? (And yes I know it's an Austin Healey 3000, more interested in who made the unusual bodywork. The halfshafts looked fine as well smile
