I got very close to working for them once, around 1993. I was a junior sales exec, bored with selling Peugeots. I lived about 15 mins from Colchester and when they advertised a Ferrari sales position I cheekily applied. To my surprise they seemed to like what I said in interview and invited me back for a second. This involved a maths test (which I passed easily) followed by a second short interview.
It fell apart when they asked me to quote the BHP of a Porsche 911 Turbo. I had no clue, and admitted as much. I queried why they were asking this, at an interview for a Ferrari position.
"Oh, we've filled that role - we're looking for a Porsche sales exec though".
Fairly predictably I never heard back from them. I often wonder what might have been if they had they told me I was being considered for a Porsche position and I'd had even a day or two to prepare for that...

Was this you?A few years ago a Ferrari salesman at Colchester managed to turn over one of the cars all on his own, couldn’t find a link for that one though.

No thankfully, the car that rolled coming off the roundabout to join the A12 was a 348, long before my time and no, I wasn't in the 458 Speciale when the customer ran out of tallent.A few years ago a Ferrari salesman at Colchester managed to turn over one of the cars all on his own, couldn’t find a link for that one though.
