Meanwhile in the Isle of Man..

Parked just off the TT course on May Hill. There was a Humber in the same spot a few years ago too

Unknown Cobra replica thingy, hasn't moved for at least 10 years from it's rusting place on Ballanard Road.

Well off the beaten track this place is like something from Wolf Creek. Quite some size too! There's a house somewhere in amidst of all the old Landies and various machinery. Looks like a Cavalier estate, a Lancia Dedra and an Austin, maybe? I'm sure there used to be a lot more metal up here. I was half expecting man traps or a blunderbuss aimed at me but the only thing patrolling the area were a couple of peacocks.

There are a couple of other places like this over here, I'll have an explore on the basis that you can never look suspicious while walking a dog whistle

I should know what this is. Someone jog my memory, please. I spotted it behind a building I've walked past on the road a hundred times.

Apparently a Gardner Douglas, 5ltr petrol, first registered in March of 2001 but not taxed since June of 2002 - wasn't on the road for very long at all.

That's a bit of a waste, the GD is pretty well engineered by kit car standards and not cheap either.

Best left where it is to die.

It was probably imported to the island in 2002, we have our own vehicle registration & tax system over here (a local system for local people..) so that would be why it vanished off the radar. Shame, 5 litre thingy would have been fun on the Mountain road!

Allways wondered what lurked beneath that tarp, as for year's all that was visible was a knock on rear wheel.

GRP body on an epoxy coated steel tube spine frame? The second coming will be sooner.

The full or compressed story please...smile
If I link to my blog I get narky messages off PH mods, sorry. I think if you google "EUROPE'S BIGGEST BARN FIND" you should find it's the top story.

Anyway - There were c.850 cars stored in/around semi-derelict greenhouses in Holland. I managed to get inside (with owner's consent). Lots of Italian exotica, rotting British classics, battered early 911s, that sort of stuff. A real eye-opener. The place has since been emptied.
Isn’t that http://www.stolzeclassiccars.nl/ I am sure it is, so not a barn find left to die but a dealer who specialise in cars to restore. Regarding the picture of the three cars stacked up this was featured in C&SC, the top was a fake snake and the other two were past salvaging.

The things you find in garages. Gained a new derelict garage (legally), got the door open and rather unexpectedly (with a bit of unwrapping), this is inside;

with a surprisingly un-mouldy interior;

and full service folder.

1983 XJS HE, full history up to 1991 at 101k miles, the tax was due in November 1995 and I believe it was put in the garage at about that time (I've owned the next door garage since before then, and have never seen anyone go in or out). Now to find the owner. Oh joy!

Unless it was specifically excluded from the sale the contents of the garage are yours.

It would seem to be a case of variable opinions with little real consensus of opinion regarding this sort of thing, but in any case, I really really don't want it, I've enough examples of British cash cow car manufacturing biggrin
