Brambles are growing into it through where the roof used to be. The weight of them brought the roof down, luckily missing the Jag.

It would seem to be a case of variable opinions with little real consensus of opinion regarding this sort of thing, but in any case, I really really don't want it, I've enough examples of British cash cow car manufacturing biggrin

If you do get in touch with the owner, i'd be interested in some more details on the car....

We are currently in the south of France and I spotted this garage full of dusty classics. There is dolomite and several Renault. Citroen. An American something ????? And a couple that look like they are from Bonnie and Clyde

Brilliant!

Any chance of a location/address please?

I was in Nice last week and from the train I spotted a lot with some Mini Mokes.

I know where it is, but didn't get a chance for any photos.

I hope to get back out later in the year to bring something back.

Yeah just outside a town called Le Muy. We were in a campsite called la domaine de la noguire. Come out the gate turn right. 1/2 mile down road on left. It's main road from frejus to draguignan. Spellings are prob wrong but it's about right.
All covered in thick dust do not moved in a while I'd say. A couple of Citroen ds there as well

Thanks.

Did you get the co-ordinates from the description?

Or did you know the location anyway?

Looking on Google maps, it would appear that it is possibly a dealer and he has only been there two or three years.

That's impressive. If it's a dealer we never saw it open over 3 days and all the cars are very dusty

If you look on Google maps the cars change about over the last few years, but it may be closed now.

Sods law I was about 35 miles away last week!

There are still cheap flights available so I might do a small recce in the next few weeks whistle

The things you find in garages. Gained a new derelict garage (legally), got the door open and rather unexpectedly (with a bit of unwrapping), this is inside;

I would feel honour-bound to resurrect that Jag if it fell into my lap. All I've ever found in lock-ups I've taken on (an embarrassingly large number) is spiders and dried up pots of paint.

It has 'unremitting money pit' written right through it like a stick of rock! I must admit, I am interested to see just how bad it is once I clear some more of the roof and can get to it a bit easier, but that's as far as it goes for me.

Was it wrapped in brown paper before being covered with the tarp?. From what you can see it don't look that bad.

There appears to be the remains of a car cover or similar underneath the tarp, the bits that look like brown paper are material, which just peel off.

Leaky roofed garage + XJ-S x 20 years = nothing below sill level except iron oxide lace held together with paint.

Sill level? You're more optimistic than I am!

Pah, it'll be all right! hehe

I saved these form a damp garage, "in storage" for years and after a splash of petrol and fresh batteries, they both drove out.

Pity the garage had partly collapsed on to one of them, but only one small dent in the roof.

That looks like the remnants of chipboard.

The felt on my garage roof gave way a few years back, and chipboard had been used as a base.

I had the roof replaced, but it took years to get rid of the chipboard bits that were trapped in various bits of brickwork and dark corners - they looked just like that which I see on that car.

Lovely - any more pictures?

It looks as though the blue one is a 5 series (E34) and the one at the back a 7 (E38?) series?

Unless chipboard is white woven material, it's not chipboard (it's also not a chipboard roof).
