How about a 'period' classics pictures thread

My old Lotus Cortina rally car, it was the Ford Works car which won the 1966 RAC Rally (The Rally of Great Britain). Driver and navigator were Bengt Soderstrom and Gunnar Palm
My old Lotus 7 race car which we ran in the 1969/70 Clubmans Championship until I parked it in the Armco at Rufforth. Photographed at Mansfield Corner, Cadwell Park.

The ex in her Midget. We had that car for years and did loads of miles in it. Photo about 1974
I fell in love with the new Manta hatch and bought this in 1980. Checked it on the DVLA and it still exists but is now white apparently:-
A warning about tractors going in and out of fields and it raining. I hit a mud slick, then hit an electricity pole even harder. They repaired it though! This is 1983
While the car was being rebuilt with a new shell someone cloned the plate and I must have had 20 parking fines from London. Finally I had a call from the BIB to say they had found "my car" in a lock up garage. That finally let me off the hook for all fines and problems.
My 348TS at Donington in 1992 next to the Pilkington 250 GTO.
The company car 1972 - groan. I had it one day and went into the back of a lorry. Drum brakes and no servo!
I designed and built the house as a self-build. You'll note the quadruple garage behind and the double in front!
And to make a point here was the stained glass window in the stairwell
This lady should need no explanation if you see what she is pointing at. An old and dear friend.
Finally, memories of Le Mans 15 years back.

Yup that's him. It's a 1 1/2 litre car (note the largerfront brake drums) and very well known in Singer circles.. His book 'Guilt Edged' is well worth a read.Gassing Station | Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
