Speedo... It's actually accurate +|- 5mph

It's got a very tired 239 cu inch V8 (3.9L) but I've gotten my grubby little mitts on a bigger Y Block... A 292. And a tri power intake manifold and an isky cam![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
Here's my contribution to good taste and restraint. I present my 1960 Lincoln Premiere. Factory power seat, windows, steering, brakes, air conditioning and cruise control (which is extremely rare). 430 Cubic Inch or 7.0L V8. Choked for 1960 with a 2bbl carb power was down from 345 to 315hp but it's got 465 lb-ft of torque.

It's a unitary body and these were the longest cars produced before the advent of those horrible 5mpg bumpers in the 70s. 229 inches long. It weighs, dry, about 5,250 lbs or so.
Small airplanes are more fuel efficient.
It takes over 3 gallons of coolant. It's got heater cores and AC Evaporators on both sides of the cabin.
Tires? Those will be 9.50 - 14s
It's amusing to say the least... When these cars were new they were considered to be too big and too heavy on fuel. Back then!

This is my latest. I bought it as the daily driver blew a turbo and ate its engine. It has been off the road for 8 weeks awaiting parts but should have it back tomorrow anyway.
I thought that doing my very short (3 mile each way) commute probably aided the big turbo lump in self detonating. With that in mind I took the price of a replacement turbo (pluss VAT, fitting etc.) and decided it would be a good idea to buy a normally aspirated petrol engine to commute in and have a bit of fun.
What I ended up with is this...

I've had her for about 7 weeks now, christened lovingly as The Stuttgart Snotter. I've done about 1500 miles in it and it is a great little car. 165bhp, weighs just over a tonne, lots of room inside surprisingly, lovely engine note from the counter balanced 4 pot.

Vulgar? I'll have you know I used to own a two tone Panther!A friend of mine has recently replaced a '70ish Coupe de Ville with a similar looking Mainline, love 'em as we do some of those huge Americans are just too much of everything to be at home outside English bungalows... said friend actually had two similar Caddy's parked at his place before the neighbours complained.
