Mk2 Cortina Savage
Discussion
Agreed on the wheels, Dunlop D1’s would be my choice, as chrome Rostyles are so expensive.
I quite like the graphics, I considered putting them on mine, to break up the silver. I also like the bonnet bulge, it’s a much prettier solution than that scoop on the silver car that sold at auction.
Whip the rear spoiler off, probably not worry about the front one.
We often talk about things not right about cars, but, in isolation, running down the local high st, I bet that looks and sounds great

Is it my ears, or does that V6 sound like its doing an impression of a diesel !
Been a while since i tinkered with one, cant recall the valve gear making that much clatter.
It does sound very clattery indeed at idle......?Been a while since i tinkered with one, cant recall the valve gear making that much clatter.
Sounds OK when it revving though....?
I see its wearing yet another set of wheels, with a set of chrome Minilite look-a-likes now, and with an old Cosmic alloy in the boot as a spare.
Talk about split personality...
Original period finish MInilites would be OK, but chrome finish.... oh dear
I think that would be a nice car, as soon as it is completely de-wkered.......and returned to a look similar to how it left the workshop at Hanwell.
I think now I'd loose the Weber six-pack and that bonnet as well now.

I think it is the alloy covers that amplify it. Also i noticed when i recorded mine, it sounded worse on the recording than in real life.Been a while since i tinkered with one, cant recall the valve gear making that much clatter.
It probably also has steel/alloy timing gear which makes it a little noisier.
