So what's this one then? It lives at the top of my village. I've narrowed it down to a 1985 1.8 Audi thanks to a vaguely educated guess, thinking either a Coupe or a Quattro. MOT ran out april 2012, currently SORN'd.
If it helps, the alloys looked like quattro alloys. I figure if it is what I think it is, it may be of interest to some folk on here.

Well it's not a Quattro turbo, but it is a Coupé and could be a Coupé quattro (I can't remember when they were introduced but I think it was around C or D, B was '84 model year.

Ah nice, just managed to dig up this image of a B-reg coupe quattro. Looks identical from the bits I could see.

Well those are quite sought-after in the classic Audi fraternity – they're very nice cars.

BTW if it has an original-looking twin exhaust it's the quattro, otherwise apart from the badge the quattro is virtually indistinguishable from the FWD Coupé.

if you do buy it I have a spare two piece screen for a panorama

and loads of the stainless trim that came off a Bedford Val

oh, and both rear corners, a full front 'chop' and the headlight panel

the stuff you keep 'just in case it might be useful one day'.......

Not after buying it myself it's for someone on here - Plaxton Bus Beardies

You should shift the parts easy in that group.

Being an 1800 makes it a Coupe - the coupe quattro was a 2226 engine.

If you do check the number of wheel bolts, I think the quattro had five where as the fwd coupe only had four.

Absoluely. My first modern was one of these, 1800 coupe (not a GT), carburettor, no black around the windows, manual windows, high mileage for age but a nice car. I had forgotten about the fake front fog lights, though the real things are so useless it wasn't much of a loss.

Looks like mine, but the wheels are cleaner. Interesting wheel centres on the offside.

If I were in a better position financially, I'd be very tempted to give the owner an offer for it. Maybe one day, hey?
