Great pic low drag .. had a look where it was .. just South of Paris. Looks amazing. Can anyone go on the track?
Apologies for the delay in replying. Each and every time I have been to Montlhèry I have been invited to a track day but I think they have open track days too. Be aware that the circuit is in poor condition and in two areas one comes down off the banking to chicanes because the pavé is not safe. Not to say it is elsewhere either, because one year in the D-type I decided it was time to try it flat out, so accelerated to 150 mph in the third lane and one of the concrete blocks had moved so was like a ski ramp. You might be able to picture my face when I found myself in mid air at that speed, and on landing with a crash found I was in neutral. A quick pit stop and change of knickers was in orderThere is also the 1000 kms circuit there which I had the privilege of doing, and that is a complicated circuit with no barriers, just trees to greet you. One very long sweeping left hander which tightens is bad enough, but there is one that I can only say resembles the Corkscrew and I never got it right. Uphill, third gear sharp right hander completely blind which drops away from you sharply. I'd love to spend a week just to get that bend right!
Another photo here though of last year at XK70 at Shelsley Walsh. None other than William Heynes, grandson of the man who invented the XK engine, taking my XKSS up the hill at a fast lick. I took the photos!
Edit: my other action photos are on page 1.

That looks great. That colour really suits and it looks quite menacing from that angle.Gassing Station | Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
