Another one in an unusual colour here:

Like the colour and the wheels, not so keen on the leather interior.
£46.5k for something that has the wrong interior, has had a colour change and (almost certainly) been an Insurance Write-Off as it was rebuilt after a fire!
It’s not got the chassis number stamped or spec the coloured plate.
Shocking

Well we all had the opportunity had we been interested . That said he still has to sell it at that money .
Well good luck to him he’s put his money into it and will no doubt have to spend some money prepping it for sale, he’s offering finance etc. I think it sold for under value at Anglia.

Ive no problem with anyone making a Profit but instead of the car being undervalued at Anglia , I am wondering if prices in genera for thesel have started to cool ? I won't imagine the Dealer will do much prepping on her because once you start you can rapidly find yourself on the way to a total restoration . Conversely just " touching bits in " can leave a bigger mess than when you started and RS Buyers and Enthusiasts are notoriously knowledgeable and picky and can spot an imperfection a mile off . Like I said earlier he still has to sell it and I think the Dealer is simply gambling on the fact he bought it cheaply in the first place .

I don't see any cooling, if by cooling you mean dropping, but prices levelled off a while ago.....they are not selling for much more than they were a few years ago. Its the newer stuff from the 80's onwards that are going up as you get the generational shift in buyers.
As I said before, prices for very good cars are only about 10-15% above turds.

What this Cordoba Beige car sold at auction for was its market value......because of its condition and its colour......this dealer is just hoping he can make a few grand out of it without having to do anything but advertise is. Good luck to him, but I'd be surprised if anyone offers him more than he paid for it.

If you really want a Mk.2.........join the clubs and get to shows and talk to people, and the good cars for sale will turn up, or be found out by word of mouth. Rarely will one of those good cars be sold via an auction or a online ad etc. Some of the really top end cars might go to a prestige auction of course for the top money, like that 900 mile one some years back that went for 100k.

Au contraire.

A friend has a very good 1980 V RS2000. Virtually all factory panels, nice interior and it's never been a rusty nail/written off/burnt. Original Pinto, fopur speed box etc,

When its time is up, off to auction it goes. He hates dealing with people and the thought of a procession of RS nutters trying to pick holes in this car fills him with dread.

It's a proper car and it will make proper money at auction.

I understand his sentiment. Hopefully when time comes i will not NEED to sell my classics, so when i do, i will advertise them in the usual way. Then, i can take great delight in telling anyone who phones who talks through there adenoids and manufacturers rivets for a living to Fox trot Oscar smile

There was:
Cordoba Beige

Tuscan Beige

and possibly Nevada Beige?

Or have I imagined that?

I'd say the first and second photo's are both Cordoba Beige, as the second one is too pale for Tuscan Beige?

Bottom one looks more like Tuscan Beige?

You’re absolutely right, bottom one is definitely Tuscan Beige. A mate had one in that colour.

Well it’s cracks on about restored to OEM which it clearly isn’t.

But I’m not offended by upgrades so much as this being Feb 1980 registered in shouldn’t have black interior, or the chassis tag positioned on the slam panel (unless it was a 79MY hanging around for an awfully long time) plus it has Capri headrests.

I guess you missed the "plus" symbol? "Fully restored with a myriad of OEM+ upgrades, a simply outstanding example recently finished with a £10,000 respray."

So what is OEM+ when its at home other than just owner/dealer/auction BS to distract from the reality.
