COOL CLASSIC CAR SPOTTERS POST!!! Vol 2
Discussion
Seen on the M1 northbound earlier this evening; it came past me so fast I couldn't even see what it was, but it looked like a Bentley 4 1/2-litre or similar from about 1930, no roof on, two blokes sat in it with several layers of clothing. I did put my foot down for a closer look but even at 80 I was making no impression on it whatsoever and within minutes it was out of sight.
Hence no photo! Sorry!

Local gathering in Warwickshire this morning, I got there early in my '73 XJ6 to find three Stags, an XK8 soft top and a Dolly Sprint, usual fare I thought, then about half an hour later this beautiful DB4GT turned up...
Got chatting to the owner who told me he'd had it about twenty five years and he thinks it was the only 4GT to leave the factory in pale blue. He also has three old Masers, a Ghibli, a Mexico and a recently inherited 3500GT... nice!

Saw quite a number of Hillman Imps and derivatives around Chipping Campden and Broadway yesterday afternoon.
Wish I'd known about that, I was in that area on Sunday.I'd love another Hillman Imp (had 3 in the 70s), indeed would probably have one by now, but know I'd be frustrated by the lack of power these days.

I know the car and the owner. Beautiful. Its called Wedgwood Blue, but I am sure there were a couple of the 74 GTs produced in this colour. Its wonderful. That may not be true.....

Where's your office? The Merc looks like it's on old Sri Lankan plates. It has the chrome strips under the rear lights which were on the 280E only so someone's titivated their 240! Looks like a post '82 facelift to me. Gassing Station | Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
