To come back to Cadillac wagons for a moment, another member has already posted an example of those created by crafting the rear roof portion and tailgate of an early 70s fullsize Chevrolet wagon onto a Cadillac.

There has however been another kind by a coachbuilding company whose name I'm unable to dig up right now, using materials I can't identify. All I know is that about a dozen have been built. If anyone can fill out the blanks on them, go ahead.

1976 Caddy Fleetwood Castilian

made by a coachworks firm in California
they also made those big pickup conversions, I think they use them as 'flower cars' for big funerals too

It isn't as far as I'm aware (look at the pillars), as above it might be one of the supposed Indy 500 cars.

In what known universe is that yuch?
How about where the new roof meets the pillar behind the back door? (C-pillar?) it looks like a truckman top that hasn't been tightened down properly.

I can only imagine perverted sadistic murderers owning these. No idea why.

The green one or the black one? I seem to be missing the problem. Probably me, I just looked at it and thought it looked great. This always happens, a pic appears on here of something or other and someone says "look at the terrible ...." and I always miss it. Perhaps my ex-wife was right and I am just shallow.

On the green car, if you look at the rear doors shut-line and follow it up (see the yellow circle area in the picture below), it appears to continue into the roof section - Hence the "Truckman" top comments.

(The strange thing being that there appears to be a join across the roof section but there's no join above the tail-light [see the orange circle area below] ).

Also, it may be a optical illusion but the top edge of the windows seem to dip down where the arrow points, which looks a bit odd.

I've been looking for an E3 "Touring" for quite a few years, I believe that ten were built but there's no data I can find that states how many survive. There is a Polaris Silver Si that was restored in the US for te UK based owner a few years ago but the owner may have broken up a few more to complete that car's restoration

Anyone know of any that survive?

Rarer than the old needle in a haystack, so just keep looking!

I'd love one, or one of the E28 tourings, but the chance of being in the right place at the right time will be slim!

But not where the lines make it look like there is a joint above the rear of the back door.

Really interesting thread, I've always liked estate cars, especially ones that shouldn't really exist.
So here are a couple I made,
