ah, just found the car I mentioned, hm.. its not a 600 but a 1976 Autobianchi 500 Giardinetta...

and that looks cute to me... at least it looks smaller/lower then the 600 Multipla I think.

it looks fun, not fast :-) I think people love this, your small kids in the back hehe

Just noticed he doesn't heel-and-toe. That would enhance the soundtrack smile

it does hahah, guess when the car is loaded/lower then its ok? seen such on other old small cars, personally I would not make it look like that hehe I would lower it and then you need a more stiff suspension, which I guess in such low weight car is pretty difficult to get right.

but then enough Fiat clubs that could help I think.

btw that video, hahah, sound seven better then I remembered, also inside, sounds like a proper even fast car, sound and feel can do a lot, also some look pretty planted and almost no overhang, so yeah, proper small fun race cars.

I’ve been able to confirm, this is indeed Kabul 69.

While most of the rest of the world has moved on, it’s saddening to think Kabul is probably in a worse position than 55 years ago.

A few random images, from 55 years ago, which may be of interest.

Leipzig 69

Baghdad, in more prosperous days, a good smattering of Americana.

Saigon 69

Saigon 69, a fair bit to feast your eyes on.

Tokyo 72, air quality looks tip top!

Jerusalem 69, what is the small white car turning right?

Spelling may be a bit iffy, translated.

Most of that area in the middle east is in a worse state than 55 years ago, Iran, Afganistan, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon & Pakistan all in a much worse state than in those first two decades post WW2.

Leipzig 69
DDR town planners predicting that cars were to get much larger in the future with the size of those parking spaces... but then to spend the next 20-years manufacturing Trabant's & Wartburg's.

Is that an MG in the centre of the shot next to the Jeep?

Jeep is likely to be a Mitsubishi - made under license from Willys from 1953 for the local market. Unbelievably made it to '98 before poor safety and emissions performance killed it off

Certainly an Spridget, either MG or Austin Healey.

It does look quite like a Midget, I can't think of anything else it might be with that chrome waist trim.

You're right about the grey car, Rene (though it's a Luce not a Luxe)
