The Metro is a very good and rather underrated car. I learned to drive in one. It was far better to drive than my mother's Golf. The Vanden Plas must be a rare thing, especially now. I like the idea of a luxurious small car - especially the walnut veneer. It's charming - like a Mini-Jag. look after it - the condition it's in is remarkable!

I think you've all got your rose tinted specs on. My ex wife had an MG Metro new back in 1983, I remember it as being unrefined, slow and like stepping in to a bathtub, the steering wheel position was similar to a coach, a truly loathesome carGunk said:

He certainly is no follower of fashion and tends to adopt a ridgid "having photo taken" stance for every photo. He is fairly severely autistic and it has been quite a journey being able to get him doing one of the few things he has always had an obsession about. He's pretty good at it too. Years of Sega Rally and Forza have done some good after all!
(No3 son has had his first lesson on private ground, in our 1.5HL Allegro!)
No 1 has the Mr Bean Mini, No2 the Metro VDP, and No3 the Allegro. I have a Maxi in reserve for when they go u/s. Am I being too cruel?
