MG Metro 6R4- Under The Plastic

Great work but please don't hate me when I say that unfinished it gets dangerously close to the BarryBoy kits. I understand what the difference is but was referring to the ungainly wheel arch extensions - particularly around the rear. What I'm really saying is the 6R4 was never designed for any other purpose than going fast; aesthetics weren't a priority. It will look like it means business when it's finished though.

It is long since finished, rallied, crashed, sold....What I'm really saying is the 6R4 was never designed for any other purpose than going fast; aesthetics weren't a priority. It will look like it means business when it's finished though.
I have a cracking little bit of video (18 seconds!)of a mate of mine in his RS200 at Longcross followed out of the 1 in 4 by my business partner in the Metro. You can see him land it on the neoprene splitter on the bottom of the front aero. Unfortunately it's not my video so don't want to link to my dropbox, but I'll send it to anyone who wants to see it if you mail me.. ![frown](/inc/images/frown.gif)

A genuine 6R4 shell had more in common with a Metro than I expected. What are the main changes?
The inner pressings are all special to the car and the wings are cut back obviously. The doors are Metro albeit fairly skeletal in the competition version. The roof is aluminium alloy. The floor is all bespoke pressings with the transmission tunnel and of course it has a rear bulkhead!Ferg said:

Nice pics Ferg. Love the crossed over exhausts.
Clever isn't it, Ryan? Thats the standard layout. It used to blow the wadding out. We're they actually a rover v8 with 2 cylinders lobbed off or a lot more bespoke than that? I'm assuming the latter.
