Saw this near Lechlade last week, looks very cool. Owners parked up and by time I crossed road they had gone.
Internet tells me...not very much! It is a Zagato concept for Rover that was never produced. Anyone know the back story of how it ended up on the road?
DVLA tell me;

Lots of SD1 design cues there. Lovely.
Couple of other photos from ARonLine, but not a lot…

That looks f
king awesome.
It's a shame how many concept cars get dismissed at the time for whatever reason; too expensive to produce, too crazy looking, the public will never buy it. Then, years later, we see them and dream of what mainstream cars might look like now if this relatively humble piece of exotica had gone into production almost 50 years ago.

I love how a zagato always looks like a zagato.
Really clever styling clues but you can identify one in milliseconds, even comparing old stuff like this to new stuff the heritage is obvious.
Beautiful car by the way.
Although it doesn't have the "roof humps" you see in their Aston specials. Looks very similar to the Lancia though. In a good way.Really clever styling clues but you can identify one in milliseconds, even comparing old stuff like this to new stuff the heritage is obvious.
