That'll be one of those kits, one way to put your foot in it

I recall the commentator at a local classic car show calling for entrants for the kit car and custom prize of the day, and calling over the owner of the nice "C-type* replica" to bring his car in. Followed a little later by a short apology that it's actually a genuine one.
(* might have been a D-type, I forget now).

Is it just me that gets the heebeegeebees a little seeing such things parked that close?
A few years back, for a special birthday prezzy, the better half rented a Healey 3000 for a day. By the time we'd enjoyed our day out in the Cotswolds and returned to the car hire company they were finished for the day. All the rest of the fleet were tucked away, tight and snug, in an industrial unit with buggerall between them. The owner of the firm just waved me in nonchalantly saying, "You'll be alright, you can drive" as I placed the car between and next to a couple of E Type roadsters and a brand new Morgan with inches to spare... (I then had to climb out over the Healey as there was no space down the sides!)droopsnoot said:

I remember that happening - it caused quite a few giggles at the time. Was it the Capesthorne show?(* might have been a D-type, I forget now).
