Why did so few of Chris Evans's cars sell?

I see that he had a number of cars in the Goodwood Revival sale. About half of the cars sold, but mainly the less expensive ones.

Why did the dearer ones not sell?

Lots of things, China, Potential interest rate rises and the fact that recent auctions have had poor results.

The Classic car market has been massively overheated for a while now, its a due a correction.

Did he put high reserves to discourage them from selling? He said on the radio last week that he was selling the memorabilia because he had a change of plan for the garage, but that plan fell though so he didn't need to sell any more, so did he decide to keep the cars?

I don't know. The reserve cannot be any higher than the lower end of the guide price.

Incorrect - the reserve can be anywhere the seller likes, the guide price is irrelevant.

Wouldn't make any difference to me, I'd buy the car on merit, for what it's worth... not because of who owned it.

I wouldn't pay more because it had a famous owner. I guess there's a big difference between someone like Steve McQueen, super cool, known the world over and an overrated breakfast show DJ.
