So, I was surfing my recordings of the Stig here and suddenly
it struck my feeble mind: I'd seen that drivingstyle somewhere else.
I went for a hunt in my archive of jolly 'ol carclips and there it was.
I had solved the riddle, I had cracked the egg. I had beaten the bush and
smoked the salmon!
While facing magnetic north it came to me, out of the blue and red.
Gotcha Stig'ster.

Now ofcourse, I have to keep it to myself! Maybe its already known in
some circles who the Stig is, I dont know! Just a mad norwegian here, dont even have
BBC or BBC2 or where ever The Stig roams.
But it just feels so good to 'ave cracked the puddle before the ice melted!
Now for all of you who also think you got a good chance of guessing.
Here's a trick question for ya: Does the Stig piss sitting down, or standing up?
The answer to that one is ofcourse that the Stig is all potty! (brakepot...yarr)
As Sherloc always just to say.
So Watson, the telly?

The "Stig" was performing at MPH 05 and there has been a few "hints" or maybe not on his identity or origins...

Those who attended MPH 05 would have viewed the him in both human and Stig forms but may not have realised just who they were talking to.....

I reckon you think it's Sabine of 'Ring Taxi fame. She's got a pretty tail happy driving style.

The stig doesn't look curvy enough though ;-)

I was thinking it might be a girlie too, and Sabine came to mind...

The whole idea of the stig is that any one of numerous drivers can be available to perform.

So if Perry Mccarthy is busy one day, Julian Bailey can be called. If hes busy then how about Damon Hill. Good idea.

You'd spot Damons stance and gait from a mile off.

i think you are right. i think the first stig was a single person but couldn't continue hence being fired off a carrier. the current stig is multiple people.

So IF the stig is a multiple personality does that make the lap times pointless?

Yes. However, for the road car runs I'm reliably informed that it is one person. The only time it was someone different was when they ran the Renault F1 car, then it was one of Renault's F1 testers (Frank Montagny I've been informed).

So the other runs should be comparable. Albeit that they do them in the wet and the dry, which has never made sense to me.
