Sad and confusing news. I have just checked his profile and some of his posts to see if it really was who I thought it was. Re-reading just a few of them leaves me very sad and puzzled, just normal PH posts. And now this. I dont get it, my thoughts go out to his family and freinds.

I have to echo this, never met Ian but read posts and watched vids posted by a nice, uncomplicated bloke who seemed to be enjoying life and now this? my sympathies go out to all those he left behind

Bloody hell.

This is the worst possible news for those who initially thought he had just gone missing.

My thoughts go out to his family.

I was one of those who more recently swapped emails with him regarding his great vulcan videos.

I didn't get as far as meeting Ian, but this is still awful news.

My thoughts are with his family.

Truly horrible news. Like many others I corresponded with Ian on various matters but never met him. Seems he was a busy chap talking to lots of us out in PH land and helping us with all sorts of things or just being sociable.

So sad when the nice chaps like this are the ones that leave us prematurely.

He's a great loss to the PH community.

My heart goes out to his wife and children. RIPetrolHeaven Ian.

That is the most terrible news. I never got round to meeting Ian, one of my big regrets, but in the mails I exchanged with him he came across as an extremely warm and friendly person.
RIP Ian - you will be sorely missed.
My thoughts go out to his family at this awful time....

havent the words to express... but the poem at the start says it best for me.

I raise a Glass to you Sir.

You went in the morning
We didn't say good-bye
The friends that you left here
Wonder why, wonder why

I wish I could see you
Just for a day
Tell you we missed you
And ask you to stay
Ask you to stay

To absent friends
This one's for you
This one's for you
To absent friends
This one's for you
This one's for you

You went without warning
We didn't even know
Just like the good ones
It was your turn to go
Your turn to go

To absent friends (to absent friends)
This one's for you (this one's for you)
This one's for you
To absent friends (to absent friends)
This one's for you (this one's for you)
This one's for you

When we're together
You stand by our side
We'll raise our glasses
And toast you tonight
Toast you tonight

You went in the morning
We didn't say good-bye
The friends that you left here
Wonder why, wonder why

I wish I could see you
Just for a day
Tell you we missed you
And ask you to stay
Ask you to stay

To absent friends (to absent friends)
This one's for you (this one's for you)
This one's for you
To absent friends (to absent friends)
This one's for you (this one's for you)
This one's for you
To absent friends (to absent friends)
This one's for you (this one's for you)
This one's for you
To absent friends (to absent friends)
This one's for you
This one's for you
This one's for you

Lifes Full of chapters,
The Good and the Bad,
Times of Elation,
And times are so Sad,

A Son And a Father,
A Freind to Us All,
We will Miss you Dear Ian,
Now Gods come to call,

A saint that just Passes,
And touches us all,
My life is far richer,
From knowing you Pal.

Ive just woken to hear the sad news Ian ,you came across as a real "sound geezer" and the world will always be a sadder place through losing such a role model.
People like you inspire me towards a fresher approach to this strange life.
My thoughts are with your family at this time.

I truly don,t know what to say. I had the great pleasure of meeting Ian at many of last years EAPH events, and was working with him organising a visit to Sebring International (Indie TVR dealer)for later this year. What a great loss. My thoughts are with his wife and kids. God knows what they must be going through.
