I tried that. Refused. I'm stuck making profit for companies when i'd much sooner be out their on 1/2 the pay doing something useful.

Without wishing to speculate just yet, this has the feel of "wait fo the Olympic decision and bomb the chosen city".

I may be wrong, and clearly no expert, but I suspect active cells ready to go at a moments notice to put pre-planning into action.

I reckon the G8 summit and the diversion of so many emergency services to Scotland isn't exactly coincidence either.

I'm willing to be there's a 'protestor' or two up in Edinburgh who knew all about this

London was the obvious target of the terrorists as they knew it would gain maximum publicity - forget our involvement in the war, the object of terrorism is to create terror - I think they did that this morning.

I would be willing to stake my life on the fact that had it been Paris or Madrid (the 1st vote btw was very close) there would have been attacks there today instead.

makes me want to join the security forces and do my part to protect my fellow citizens.

best to all

If it was a choice between preparing 3 teams to bomb whichever city was chosen for the Olympics and preparing one team to bomb the country hosting the G8 summit, I suspect they'd just prepare the one group.

This has been a meticulously planned assault with very specific targets to disrupt London. It must be Al-Qaeda - it is far too spohisticated for anti-capitalists, who prefer to beat up a few Police and chuck rocks about.

It is all about G8 - it cannot be coincidental that Bush and all the other "powerful" people are here - it is to send a message to them - "You think you are so clever and protected yet look what we can do - look how we can get inside your security at will and hurt your Western capitalist centres"

It is a symbolic gesture. Possibly the security and intelligence services have managed to prevent a much bigger atrocity by the efficiency of their work and this was the best Al-Qaeda caould do.

The proximity to the Olympic decision is entirely coincidental, IMHO.

maybe, but the message is clear.

"We can bomb who we want when we want"

I'm sure we already knew that. Otherwise we'd never have heard the words. "Please keep all you belongings with you".

Absolutely - this is related to the G8 and is bugger all to do with the OG2012. For them London winning that is fortuitous as it just increases the publicity, but the obvious aim was London during the G8 while 10000 police had been sent up to Edinburgh.

Almost certainly not, but I recall reading that they were assembling that many police at the G8 venue to deal with the globalisation protesters. Where they came from who knows, but it must have left security elsewhere a bit thin.

Who was that moron on Sky news earlier who tried to blame it on the company that runs the Tube?

Bob Crow a real c**t, a major union mouthpiece whose major ambition seems to find fault and allocate blame for everything and anything

Just goes to highlight how many foreign scum are left walking free in our own country causing trouble. Might be an idea to have some kind of border controls FFS.

F@ckin bastard Muslims - they're all the same - kill the infidels

Really not happy about the reporting - too many journalists with too many vested interests in providing a story...

F@ckin bastard accountants - they're all the same - kill the infidels

Not happy about what happened, angry that it happened 'on my manor' (david beckham),
Don't need scapegoat mentality, need the persons responsible to die a horrible and drawn out death, how dare they, hiding behind whatever god or ideology, realizing that any god or karma will not smite them or venerate them, but that there isn't one, and they know that a lot of people really fear (and even stick their foreheads on a damp rug) the repercussions,

what place has religion in our society now...

what was it for?

what gains do the perpetrators hope to make by this?

don't they look a little foolish...

Haven't we actually won this battle by being the victims?

what the , idiot. This has nothing to do with anti-capatilist swampys (as much as i hate them). It is islamic terror. It would have been planned weeks in advance because of the G8 summitt and has nothing to do with the olympics.

Please don't start throwing "foreign scum" type comments about. For all we know the perpetrators of this attrocity could be British born and bred. Indeed, the emergency services at this very moment are depending to a huge extent on foreign personnel. I've just heard on the news that foreigners health workers are acting as invaluable interpretors because many of the injured are non-English speaking.

This is tragic for all those directly affected. It is also proof positive that public transport is utter nonsense in the 21st century. There is no point in being sick and angry, these people will continue the tactics as long as we maintain archaic transport systems. I feed dreadfully sorry for anyone who died in these attacks and even more sympathetic with those who will die because of Mad Kens silliness. I would imagine the emergency services would have been a lot more efficient if the entire city had its rat runs in tact and no speed humps etc. Hopefully now something good will come from this in that the public will insist on using the car and abandon the public transport systems. Our government needed a good kicking, bend over Blair you are an idiot.

No doubt, but there's no need to call people **** idiots, thanks.

Had they set off the bombs yesterday, Paris would probably have got the Olympics.

Good call Eric, one of the terrorists objectives is to divide us.

Like to say a big up to the emergency services, seems their training and bravery was spot on
