Ian Beech - sad news
Discussion
Awful news. The only time we had anything to do with each other was a few weeks ago when I commented on a Vulcan movie. He then sent me a PM to say that he was organising a trip to see one of the last ones and asked if I was interested. I kept reminding myself to check my diary and get back to him - but sad to say I never did.
RIP.
RIP.
Simply dreadful news.
Like many here I never knew Ian personally, but can only imagine how desparate he must have felt, and how his family and friends must now be feeling.
Condolences to all.
ETA: I don't think there's such a thing as a "good way to go", but this always seems like one of the worst. It leaves everyone thinking (rightly or wrongly) that they "could have done something". As I said: desparate.

Shuttleworth Collection, Mosler, Flying Fortress, Beef Feast jokes...these are the happy and unforgetable memories I have of Ian. I will truly miss his warmth, friendliness and comfortable companionship at PHEA.
God bless you Ian and my sadest, heartfelt condolences to your family. RIP
