Awful news. The only time we had anything to do with each other was a few weeks ago when I commented on a Vulcan movie. He then sent me a PM to say that he was organising a trip to see one of the last ones and asked if I was interested. I kept reminding myself to check my diary and get back to him - but sad to say I never did.

RIP.

Simply dreadful news.

Like many here I never knew Ian personally, but can only imagine how desparate he must have felt, and how his family and friends must now be feeling.

Condolences to all.

ETA: I don't think there's such a thing as a "good way to go", but this always seems like one of the worst. It leaves everyone thinking (rightly or wrongly) that they "could have done something". As I said: desparate.

Terrible terrible news, from reading all these tributes, its tragic that whatever was wrong, so many people could have helped.

My thoughts go out to all who are affected by this.

RIP Ian

Terrible, tragic news. Like many others here, I never met Ian, but read quite a few posts, especially about aircraft, always interesting and informative. What dreadful way to lose a PH member. Thoughts are with family and friends.

Shuttleworth Collection, Mosler, Flying Fortress, Beef Feast jokes...these are the happy and unforgetable memories I have of Ian. I will truly miss his warmth, friendliness and comfortable companionship at PHEA.

God bless you Ian and my sadest, heartfelt condolences to your family. RIP

Like so many we neve met Ian. This is so sad.

His spirit will not only live on in his children, but in the enjoyable videos and kindmess and help he gave to all.

May your spirit fly free now Ian .

I only ever enjoyed his videos and his posts, never knew the guy personally.

But I still feel a sadness, and my heart goes out to his wife and children.

Hope you've found peace Ian.
