If it's jewellery, Harriet Kelsall jewellery designs (made Mrs Dibble's engagement ring and birthdau pendant).

They do nice stuff for under £100, all handmade, just that little bit different.

Or see if you can find a local jeweller that does Georg Jensen.

A necklace would be best, as rings could get complicated with being wrong size and all.
You can pick up Tiffany jewellery for a good price if you hunt around, that will mean more than H Samuels stuff
But no matter what you buy, the important thing is, you bought it for her, and even if she is not keen on what you choose, she will always love it because its a gift from a friend

Tiffany.......it's fair to say that ladies do like their stuff.....its kinda hard to go wrong if you buy a tiffany item .

cheers

I'm sorry and I have no desire to offend anyone who has some, but I hate Tiffany with a passion, mass produced, overated cheap c@@p, and now being worn by chavs. I prefer Cartier or Gucci.

well I'm glad you said it rather than me...but I 100% entirely completely and utterly agree with you! (I could rant about them for some considerable time).....but.......the majority of ladies I know still think their stuff is just wonderful!

I'm not particulary fussed about Tiffany's stuff. It's only a name after all.

but would you agere that a lot of people DO think they're great? (otherwise why pay £200 for a necklace with around £5 of silver in it pororly contructed?!)

I do agree with you yes, but again, it is because of the name 'Tiffany's' rather than the actual item.

Agreed. Tiffany is all about the name and the box and not worth what you'd pay for it.

I don't....

I like nice simple jewellery...

I have friend (he move to New Zealand) who bought me a very nice gold chain mit tasteful pendant. It was not an expensive piece... but I have always treasured it as it ist keepsake und symbol of friendship.

I still have all the items given to me by student friends for 18th and 21st ... as again ... these were items purchased by friends when they were strapped for cash.. and the very fact they saved up their spare cash to buy me a "meaningful" present means a lot to me.

So vispy ... it does not matter what you purchase. The very fact that you wanted to buy decent trinket will mean a lot to her.

Have you though of a clock, ornament for her house? Have one extremely beautiful antique vase.... from colleague who was transferred to Canadian research lab. I can visualise him, hear his voice, even smell him each time I set eyes on this vase .. which occupies a star position in my lair.

I would definitely go for a pendant. Just make sure you know whether she goes for gold or silver. I would suggest a 'meaningful' stone e.g. moonstone which is meant to bring good luck and protection for women (and protection with travel).

Help!! The Budget is about £100.

vixpy1 further went on and said:
The item must say 'I love you' but in a friendship way not anymore, becuase although we have ended up in bed together it aint like that!

...C'mon mate, surely you can do better than £100. I think all over Britain, every PH lady collectively rolled their eyes...

I thought that it was an extremely generous and very thoughtful gesture myself (I'm talking about the gift of course )

My boyfriend bought me a Tiffany heart necklace and a silver ring, both of which I love.

There is nothing wrong with a really good quality string of pearls.

They can enhance the correct outfit, lift a complexion, und look class.

I have two decent pearl necklaces und admit to wearing them as certain outfits look better mit pearls.

Wildy's command of English is quite good... but there are things which catch her out.....

I have such fun with her over these

Now that could be taken as very dodgy in context

Right, I've settled for this, due to the fact that too many cock ups can be made with Jewelery!!

What do you think?
