fair play btw, although i would have contacted the Credit Card and explained to the nice lady that I wastn aware naked ladies cost so much (2.5k on strippers, what did you do line them up on stage)
£750 a go, but there is no way on gods earth I would have agreed to that sober, I really was drunk, to the point of barely any memory. There is nothing I can do about this though.....I am normally so careful with money, I have not normally even got a credit card bill, I just messed up big time.fair play btw, although i would have contacted the Credit Card and explained to the nice lady that I wastn aware naked ladies cost so much (2.5k on strippers, what did you do line them up on stage)
Mate - you were properly done
Btw, Do not UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES tell your wife. It won't make you feel any better and it sure as bloody hell won't make her feel better

£750 a go? Seriously - that isnt stripper money. You are either telling porkies, were ripped off or had 3 19 year old polish 'escorts' for a few hours.
£750 a go?!? I Would hope he still bloody has them for that money!!!£10 a dance in Edinburgh........so I have heard anyway
You have 3 cars???!
Seriously when I was having serious (and I mean SERIOUS) money problems when setting up the business some years back, I sold my motorcycle to pay the next few months rent... So no sympathy here when you have assets to easily cover a debt that will not exectly see you unable to eat for the next few months....

Yep, raise money quick by selling some assets - maybe cars, maybe something else. Either way, this is simply a consequence of your actions.
I would also come clean with the missus and tell her why you're selling the cars (or whatever) it shows some degree of penance. Let's be honest, if you were not alone (and you weren't) it could come out some other way (a friend of a friend type thing). As such "grasp the nettle".
Funny thread by the way!

How did these payments get authorised?
Is it a chip & pin card - and if so, was it PIN authorised?
If it was PIN authorised, you may well be shafted.... however
If it's signature authorised, or they've done a sneaky 'cardholder not present' transaction, then you have very good grounds for instigating a chargeback against the club.
Before you do anything else....
1. Is the card still in your posession?
2. Do you have a receipt for the transactions?
3. Have you got the balls to challenge it via the bank? - if it's a signature or cardholder not present transaction and you own a chip & pin card, they're going to have a bloody hard time producing evidence that it was actually you who authorised the transactions - especially as you have absolutely no knowledge of what went on that night.
If it were me - I'd get the bank onto this as a fraudulent transaction and instigate a chargeback against the club in question.

They've done a standard stripclub trick.
You get cashback for 75 quid a go or order a bottle of champagne for 75 quid or whatever, they chip and pin you, you are too pissed to realise the decimal point is in the wrong place and they hit you for 750 quid instead of 75. one of my mates got caught by this - 375 quid instead of 37.50
Unfortunately they usually get away with it, because 9 times out of 10 the bloke is either married or its his expenses card and he doesnt want to have a investigation which would mean the bank contacting hte venue and the venue writing back with a itemised recipt of your "spending" including details of number of strippers procured etc.
For the OP, you may get away with it. my mate has been addicted to lap dancers since he got married and done 1000s on drunken night outs and his wife doesnt have a clue.
Your best bet is partial confession. tell her it was a celebration, stag do, birthday whatever, and post curry the boys wanted to carry on drinking, they took you to this dodgy pub and it turned out to be a seedy strip bar. You didnt fancy it but your mate who was putting you up for the night wanted to stay, so you got 3 rounds of champagne or wine in at 75 quid a go, and they must of scammed you and you didnt notice the decimal point. no you didnt have any strippers because they were all ing ugly and you dont need to pay ugly women to take their clothes off. you had enough in the end when they wouldnt leave so you ended up kipping in the office. yes you know, you should have just got a hotel. what a mess etc. the robbers.
then at least you can go public and raise the bogus charges with the credit card company.
its your best hope. if you pay it off you admit guilt, if she then finds out you will either have to tell her you lost the money playing poker in a illegal gambling den or you have a drug problem.

This simply HAS to be a pisstake, surely? Nobody who's been on PH for 40months/1430posts could actually expect this hair-brained scheme to work out? If its not, then jee-zuz.... if PH is the only place you can come to run for some cash then god help ya fella! What about your mates you were out with? Your parents? The bank?
